Dallas D looking unfocused and undisciplined coming off the bye. Gotta tighten up. Playcalling needs to get better too. 3rd and 2 should be Elliot time 10 times out of 10.

If you join the huddle, you HAVE to participate in the play. It makes it so that a player can't join the huddle, then leave and get replaced forcing the Defense to make ANOTHER substitution to compensate. It's called an Unsportsmanlike Penalty and a 15 yarder.

Thing is, they weren't really in a huddle yet. They were definitely in a group, about to huddle, but not huddling. At any rate, it killed a drive and maybe have cost a TD. Crazy rule.

I understand why you can't do it. I don't understand why its penalized the same as a facemask, helmet-to-helmet hit, or chop block. That is absurd. It should be 5 yards just like any other substitution penalty.

I didn't think 19 for Dallas was in the huddle either but I just went and read the rule. It didn't say he had to be in the huddle, it said said if a player approaches the huddle and communicates with a teammate, he has to stay in for a play. I guess the question is, did he communicate with a teammate on the field? Dak wasn't even in the huddle yet.
