They knew they were firing Jones after Simmons left before they hired him. They wanted Simmons that bad they decided it was worth it. Seems like their plan is unfolding just like they thought it would. I have seen Stansbury's name tossed around as a possible next hire on Tiger Rant. Just reporting what I saw.

Anderson left Missouri awhile back and had success, been at Arkansas I think 6 years, talk radio folks say he hasn't recruited point guard and he want change from pressing full court and between that is killing him and their program. Attendance is way down, they have 19,000 capacity and averaging well under 10,000. This alone will get a Coach fired.

The only hang up is the recruiting classes he has lined up for the next 3 years are better than anything he's signed yet. Plus it's harder to fire him because of his past with Arkansas and everyone likes him as a person here. But one NCAAT in six years if we don't make it this year will be hard to justify.

Two things I never understood about that. 1: Their new facility is nice and is going to sell itself for a couple of years regardless of how shitty their team is so no need to make a push for attendance at this time. 2: If I were a fan of that school, it would have been embarassing as hell seeing my coach making a fool of himself like that. If you're going to go full on stupid, get some fans to do it instead.

OM does at least have an in with a great potential replacement in Michael White. Hopefully he shares the same loyalty to his alma mater as his current athletic director.
