Minnesota did well. Big10 continues to get big time coaching talent.

We will see. He did a really good job at W MI. I do think there were concerns over some of antics at places but this is a better fit than Oregon or some other jobs. He does have several issues to get straightened on the team right off so he doesn't start on really shaky ground. He absolutely has to get some of the players back on board with the program.

Yes, he did well, and he wanted to stay in the midwest. I can't see coaching at Minnesota ... they still play outside. Yeah, Michigan is cold, but it's not Minnesota-cold.

Maybe he can move up to an SEC job once of these days. **

Goodness. Big 10 coaching is so far and away better than SEC coaching right now. A school like Minnesota is getting Fleck while we have Florida hiring McElwain and LSU hiring Orgeron.

Massive hire for Minnesota. They will be relevant within a few years.

Florida fans would trade McE for fleck right now. McE is only the 2nd coming of Steve spurrier in your mind

Mac has 2 SEC East titles in 2 years...He rebuilt Colorado State into a winning program...he won a couple of titles as Bama's OC and is still considered Saban's best OC. His credentials far outweigh Fleck.

All he does is win- and he will fix Florida's problems...he returns every single damn OL on the roster- that alone will make them better on offense in 2017

He better fix the offense bc boom's boys are almost all gone on defense.

That we can agree on... Urban to McE has got to be humbling

McElwain is fine. He's not a Florida coach. He'll become their version of Les Miles which, again, is fine. But he's no great coach.

The east sucks. Mac will never win big there. And by big at fla, I mean national title or at least playoffs every three years. He is an average recruiter and his offense is stuck in 1994

Fleck will do well but it will be very hard to impossible to get enough talent to Minnesota to really compete CONSISTENTLY with Ohio State and a resurgent Michigan. MN is the MS State of the B1G.

Maybe so, but unlike us, Minnesota is in the west, which is the east of the sec. Minnesota isn't in penn state, Ohio state, Michigan, and Michigan state's division. Fleck is walking into a pretty good situation imo... Minnesota has won 8, 8, 6, and 9 the last 4 seasons

Yep. And Kiffin is Saban's best OC, not McElwain.

Fleck was also a Jerry Kill disciple, which is huge for some Gopher fans.
