Has 112 yards on 8 carries in the first quarter with 1 TD against Starkville. Oh, and he lined up at Safety...this kid is a beast!

Wow, they must be playing a pee wee team because Mullen can't recruit.*

Looking forward to seeing he and Staley in Maroon and White (and gray, and maybe black*)

Well I thought Starkville was supposed to be pretty good this year but Williams and crew are tearing them apart.

Starkville is making a game of it, WP up 21-13 now.

Staley with Shumpert and Williams, that's exciting!

Don't forget Fred Ross, wilson, graham, and hopefully Jesse jackson. We've got to get the oline stronger

Williams is gonna be a 5-star soon! I actually hope not. Too many people would be calling him.

55-33 West Point. About 4 mins left. Aeries still in but his backup, Quincy Starks getting most of the work now. He sounds tough too. Over 100 yds and a couple of TDs

Williams is from West Point... Worrying about Ole Miss getting involved in his recruitment would be like them worrying about us getting kids from South Panola that they want. No -- it's actually worse -- because we've actually gotten a few out of SP before. West Point is as deep of MSU territory as there is...

Lets keep it that way.

I heard that Coach Pouge said he was the best HS RB he has seen in a long time..

This isn't official or anything but by doing some rough math I believe he had around 220 yds and a pair of TDs

I'm sure this won't be the first time we compare these two, but lets compare AW and shump. Which ones faster? Which one has more power? Which one is better?

We've had some outstanding RB duos here over the years. Michael Davis/Bernard Eulls. Dicenzo Miller/Dontae Walker. Boobie Dixon/Christian Ducre. It's looking like Aeris Williams/Ashton Shumpert will be right up there among the best we've ever had. I can't wait to see what they do over the next few years. Could be very special.

I agree. We've got to get the guys upfront though.

I corrected that for you. Bernard was a WR. Kevin Bouie bounced around the NFL for 2-3 years after his college career was over.

I think Williams(and possibly Shump) will be able to move the ball some against tougher defenses -- something we really haven't had since AD. That's why our offense looked the best under Mullen in 2009 against the better competition IMO

according to Paul:

West Point RB Aeris Williams had 25 carries for 258 yards and one touchdown, two receptions for 14 yards and one touchdown and two kickoff returns for 48 yards

season stats: 57 carries for 452 yards and five touchdowns, seven catches for 48 yards and one touchdown, and six kickoff returns for 102 yards.

Thank you Hacker, I hadn't seen that yet. The crazy thing is, with a little over 4 minutes left in the third quarter, West Point started giving the bulk of the carries to Starks. So Williams essentially had his 258 yds in just a little over 2 1/2 quarters.

averaging 8 per carry against South Panola and Starkville

I was always told we wouldn't and didn't miss AD. haha - j/k, don't want to start that up again. Ballard was fine, we just aren't getting it done in the Perkins era.

The Perkins era also coincides with the lack of a running threat at quarterback. It's happened everywhere this offense has been run at when the team goes from a dual threat quarterback to a more pass oriented quarterback.
