One of the top performers

"In a really good linebacker group, Starkville (Miss.) High talent Willie Gay showed the most trait. Has outstanding first-move twitch, very fluid, great speed, rangy, has courage to stick his nose in against the run, made plays in the alley, was sound in drills, performed like a five-star. 247Sports ranks Gay as the nation?s No. 3 outside linebacker. Mississippi State is the 247Sports Crystal Ball favorite with Michigan, LSU and Ole Miss the other contenders."

"...showed the most trait...."? What does that mean?

I just copied but noticed it as well. I assume he meant the best traits of a LB in a talented LB group

Was wondering the same. I think whoever wrote that was just trying to sound "cool" (or whatever the word nowadays is). The whole writeup has a similar flavor.

Don't really know a ton about Gay's game. What are we looking at here? Leo Lewis? Reuben Foster? Senior year Richie Brown? Badass program changer Samoan Oregon State grad transfer?

I'm assuming he showed good traits or good instincts for the position

I think he is going to be an awesome OLB for us. He's very fast.

Is it true that after his Michigan trip when he landed back at Golden Triangle that two Michigan assistants were waiting on him in a limo to take him back home from the airport? If so, that is the relentless recruiting that our staff needs to learn how to do.

He's not a freak athlete stature wise as Geri Green and Lewis are but the kid is an athlete and has phenomenal instincts. He's football smart.

If he isn't showing maximum strain...... STRAIN!!!!! I think he just shit himself? ...... we don't want him. LOL worst description I have ever heard from a coach about how to play a sport.

I prefer that to Butch Jones Champions of Life he is peddling with all the nasty stuff coming out about what is going on off the field and how he is handling it, allegedly, is pretty poor. Still not sold on Fleck's Row, Row, Row your boat either. Haha

You know it does. Bet Bama players have a special loathing of the word process, especially with its double meaning in T Town
