When was the last time MSU started the year with a big LOSS and had a good season?

When I first came up with this question, I thought it would be a long time, but in reality - 2007. We started the season with a 45-0 raping at the hands of LSU and went on to have a 8-5 season.

Depends on if the team is better than us or not. When we drop a game in the first two weeks that we shouldn't (Louisiana Tech 2008 and Auburn 2011) we usually end up sucking. If it's a good team (LSU 2007 and Auburn 2010), we end up OK. Hard to tell in 2009 because we were picked to be pretty terrible that year. Still, we got blown out by Auburn and still had a good year considering our talent and the schedule.
