I love this move. Perhaps Mullen has seen the light. I really hope we utilize LP in the passing and option game.

Perk is out this week- just precautionary so he will be 100% next week. JRob gonna get some well-deserved carries

Expect to see a semblance of the physical attack we used to have with this university

Is PJ Jones out too? Saw that on another board. Dang, I've never seen a first game decimate a team like the OSU game did to us. If we were playing anyone other than a SWAC team I would be very worried about the game tomorrow.

Great move!

Last 2 games:

Perkins - 16 for 50, 19 for 84 = 35 for 134
Robinson - 8 for 48, 7 for 91 = 15 for 139

Obvious trend is obvious...

Well, part of the reason so many guys are going to be out is because we are playing a SWAC team. Perkins would be playing, and I'm guessing PJ Jones would be too, if we were playing an opponent of substance.

It's gonna be very interesting to see what happens next week if the offense with Dak and Robison clicks this weekend like its supposed to. Not only is Mullen going to have to choose between Tyler and Perkins or Dak and Robinson, he will have to choose between physical power offense and finesse offense. Its going to be interesting.

Might mean carries for Griffin too.

Or as Hack would say, football every OSU secretary of state.

Picture Dak at QB with Robinson and Griffin to each side of him, Lewis in the slot, occasionally running across for a jet sweep or fake jet sweep, whoever the heck u want on the outside catching passes and blocking, Thats one heck of a offense I think!

I think we will also see Sat if we are going to red shirt Shump or not.. I say play him.. with the RB we have coming in next year and our ability to always sign NFL guys at this position year in and year out lets get him in there and ready if we need him later this year.. and I think it will help for the next couple of years as well...

No, we only wish it would be interesting. Sadly, we know who the starters are going to be next week regardless of what happens this week.

It would be the least productive offense in college football history if you don't get blocking on the edges. Our WR struggle with their blocking, which is putting it kindly.

Yep, go ahead and get a good mental picture, because you sure as hell won't be seeing it in person any time soon. Can't wait to see the coaches use Dak like Tom Brady.

It's a shame that Dan Mullen has gotten to this point. I used to have complete faith in this guy and now I've got none. I wanna win and get a bowl, but if we aren't gonna make it I'd rather bomb the season and get rid of him. I want the guy we hired not the shell of himself we've got now

I want to see more passing tomorrow! We don't need to go 3 and out until second half garbage time. How we perform tomorrow against a weak FCS opponent has implications for the immediate future. Auburn will be tested tomorrow and will be the better prepared team next week.

And everyone PLEASE don't expect Dak to be running all over the field. Im guessing we don't run him that much he CANT get hurt tomorrow.. he will be very basic is my guess.. Hopefully he plays one position in the 3rd and hes out of there.
We run J-Rob and company early and often and Dak has more passing attempts than rushing attempts..

I don't have a problem letting the banged up players have a week to get ready for auburn but we better roll Alcorn doing so. As far as Shump getting PT, if we are gonna play him we better utilize him. Don't throw a whole year out the window for 20 carries on the season.

Somewhere about the 2nd quarter?

Somewhere about the 2nd quarter?

I think we need to get DP a bunch of reps. As far as his performance goes, it will only be telling if he does poorly. Any second-stringer should come in against Alcorn State and be successful. If he's great against Alcorn it won't prove much, considering the opposition. But if he struggles against Alcorn, it would strongly suggest he isn't ready to play Auburn.

The benefit to playing him a lot tomorrow us that he gets as many first team reps as possible in case he is needed later or becomes the starter for AU. I just don't see the opponent valid enough to "prove" DP is ready to take over for the Auburn game. Does anybody not think that whoever we put back at QB, including Russell shouldn't have a field day?

Barking 13

I agree, but it looks like a lot of "first teamers" may be on the pine tomorrow

The offense is going to get better with Perkins and Russell out. The 2 guys starting have a skill set we are actually fit to utilize.

Wasn't trying to correct you. You just made it sound like Mullen is starting Robinson over Perkins.
