Got the scoop on a 1500 Ram with the diesel motor? Not a diesel guy, not really a Ram truck guy but I found a good deal while getting my wife's Cherokee now I'm thinking on it. Reduced 10k (asking 34ish)since it's a 16 model, has some pretty good rebates on top of that. I'm in a chevy Silverado now just worried about leaving my "brand". Anybody have one or know about it? I'm not a mechanic by any stretch so thought maybe some of you fine upstanding people may be able to help.

Not a dodge person, but we have a diesel car and the maintenance is way more than a regular gas engine. Just keep that in mind

One of my big hang ups for sure.

general maintenance is more costly, but if you plan to keep it a long time, I think it'd be a wash with the mileage/use you'd get out of a diesel vs a gas engine...

also, you can tow a lot more...

I do the maintenance on our car so if you are handy at all you can save yourself some money by doing it yourself

I'm good with an oil change and the other basics anything beyond that not so much. Heaviest I haul is a pontoon and some mulch or sand here and there. I'm in gulf shores small town 1.5 miles to work couple road trips a year to Memphis not much further really much further than that...you guys are great I don't care what the bears and the CL say!

Drive a 650 HP challenger the other day. Kept it at about 6500 rpms through the gears. By far the fastest car I have ever been in. I would still rather have a stock 68 rs SS Camaro.

Good truck with a lot of torque for a 1/2 ton and damn good mpg. The 14 and 15 had a issue with something internally in the engine but I think they have that worked out on the 16s

Not a big truck guy, but Ford and Chevy both over built for the market and are offering big rebates also. You might want to cross shop. My wife drives a Toyota Tundra. I drive the 02 Impala we bought new when my soon to be 16 year old son was born and the 1979 'vette I bought in 1987. Have owned 5 Chevelles, 2 Camaros, and a Monte Carlo SS. I'm a Chevy man.

I recently got to drive a 911 turbo S with the PDK, and it's the only car I've ever driven that damn near made me throw everytime I gave it the boot. It's ridiculous

I owned a 3500 Dodge Ram dually, 6 speed manual transmission and Diesel engine. It would pull what ever I put behind it with ease. I still kick myself for selling that truck, I loved it.

I know nothing about the specific truck, but $10k in discounts is nothing special. If it's a leftover '16, you should be looking at 30% off of sticker, at a minimum to be in the "good deal" territory.
