Will never make an NFL roster. He may stick around on some practice squads and come up a few times, but he will never stick. He drops far too many passes that hit him in the hands. Especially long ones.

I was really pulling for him too! But you can't be in the NFL and drop passes. He's got good speed and is a good route runner. Just depends how hard he works.

I've never thought he was an NFL receiver. Not fast enough. He might could be a possession receiver tho. Gotta catch the ball tho.

Yeah I can see why you would be ready for a career record holder to leave. Good grief. Stupid ass

Ross drops a lot of passes but he has been a good player for us. I hate his last game was such a bad one

This year you aren't far off with this. He's not the only reason we lost those games tho. Early in the season he couldn't catch a cold. I was wondering if he had eye problems like Justin Jenkins did his senior year.

Before this year he was very solid receiver. You could count on him to catch it.

He had QB problems this year. His QB wasn't playing and he pouted, started locker room fights, and played pretty damn bad. You can thank Dan for the majority of it by giving the impression that DWill had a legitimate shot to be the #1 guy.

I've heard commentating coaches say that players know who ought to be starting before the coaches do.

While I may agree with you, that would be a water cooler comment and not something to put on a message board.

It was obvious that the starters did not practice much during bowl prep.

Speed is definitely NOT Ross' problem.

Maybe so. I just don't see him beating too many guys on go routes. Or anything deep for that matter when playing a mid to upper-tier team. Haven't seen him return too many punts for big gains or TDs either. Maybe his 40 time is really good tho.

This is a dude with 40 posts. Nothing says he is even necessarily part of our fanbase.

And Ross's one hander last year against Ark is why he will. Next troll attempt, you're up.

The guy had one bad game and he wasn't alone. A lot of drops. The offense was bad out of rythym, in part, because their offensive gameplan of ball control was great. That venue had weird lighting too. That said, there is no excuse for some of those drops and he'd tell you that. If you're banging on Fred Ross, you're really dumb or a troll. Ross is a great Bulldog.

Exactly. Arguably the best catch in MSU history. Housing that 4th down reception in the Egg Bowl was the biggest play of the 2016 season from a WR

Not sure what you think you're doing here, but ok. No troll - the guy has struggled with drops. Especially on long balls. He's a great bulldog, but you can't drop that many passes and play in the NFL. With today's receiver gloves, there is no excuse to drop a ball that hits you in the hands. I'll be glad to be proven wrong, but I doubt I will. I'm sure he'll hear this a lot throughout his evals.

Really Clark?

What odds will someone give me that Ross has more catches in the NFL as a rookie than Treadwell.

I don't remember Ross having a problem with drops prior to this year. Up to yesterday, it's understandable that he regressed some due to the transition to a new QB who by many accounts didn't put in all the hours he needed to in the offseason and only has one speed (the wrong one) on many of the throws right now. Yesterday was a bad game for Ross, no other way to put it. Regardless of yesterday and a somewhat disappointing season though, it is absolutely asinine to make out that a four-year starter who broke a ton of school records was anything less than a great player and a tremendous asset for us throughout his career.
