My son is back on leave from the Army and we are going to the Independence Bowl because he hasn't been able to see a CFB game all season and he's anxious to do so. There's plenty of time to post up somewhere and eat a long lunch while watching the Bulldogs because the Indy Bowl K.O. isn't until 4:00pm.

Is anyone familiar with Shreveport able to recommend a place with decent food that will have plenty of accessible TVs???

I had a friend that lived there- and he always recommended:

Superior Grill- great Mexican food and atmosphere
Herby K's- great Shrimp po-boy
Superior Steakhouse- more upscale but great bar area with great wine
Franks- upscale pizza place owned by a Rebel- but the food is pretty good
Hooters- located at the Boardwalk in Bossier
Wine Country Bistro- Jason does a good job at his restaurant.

I second Superior Grill. My brother-in-law runs one of their places. He got his start there.

I knew your friend would not disappoint! Thanks. See below.

Y'all would definitely have sold me on Superior Grill except that Mexican has just never been a "gameday" concept for my family.

RP, is the Superior Steakhouse by the same folks? In other words could we expect as good of an experience?

I'm interested in the boardwalk area too. I keep seeing less than stellar reviews of the Hooters though. Still I know they would have TVs and stuff. There's a Joe's Crab Shack there but I haven't been to one since the late 90s in Baton Rouge and don't remember if it's conducive to game watching or not. What about this "Salt Grass Steakhouse" at the boardwalk?

The main thing is we want somewhere that's not gonna mind us sticking around 3 plus hours that we won't have a problem being able to see a TV. I'll order a drink when I first get there and appetizer. Then lunch about halftime, etc. Some places still don't want you sitting too long.

The Blind Tiger caught my attention but I can't surmise if we'd be able to watch the game or not. I also read the menu isn't impressive. The only other place that was interested in was Sportman's Paradise (inside a casino I think). The food doesn't seem to be anything special but I noticed in some pics that there are booths with TVs right there in the wall beside you.

The Superior steak and grill are the same folks. blind Tiger is good food but a pub and not a good place to catch a lot of games. As RP34 said the Boardwalk in Bossier on the river has Hooter's and BWW for game watching.

Apparently the BWW has moved to somewhere south of the interstate, Airline Drive or something.

The Hooters there is as good as any my friend has been to.

Define family? Do you have youngsters or is everybody 21?

There is Walk Ons now in 2 locations. Prob best combination to watch game and have decent food outside of Franks. Or Rotolos. Problem is the game kicks at 10am local time so some things won't be open yet.

Yeah, that sucks. BWW opens at 1030 at least. Anything in the casino may be open already, such that Sportsman's Paradise Caf? thing.

It'll just be me and the boy, who is 19. That precludes sitting at the bar in a restaurant...or does it in Louisiana?

I would go Hooter's. Walk-On's, or Superior Grill
