This is also correct. Dartmouth was the Indians, Siena was the Indians, Miami was the Redskins, and Seattle was the Chieftains.

Generic names like Indians, Savages, Braves, Redskins, etc., are not allowed but tribe names are ok if and only if the school gets permission from the tribe. Florida State (Seminoles) and Central Michigan (Chippewas) got permission, but the Sioux and Huron tribes told North Dakota and Eastern Michigan no.

Not true, or at least not in all cases. I know Stanford's students decided to change theirs in the 70s.
