The three best voices in sports announcing history..Vince Skully, Al Micheals, Jack Cristal.

Second team but not by much..Jim McKay.

Agree... Can't put them below 1st team.

But before we get carried away with people who we like....voices is the main subject. Jack is 1st team for ever. Perfect voice.

I like Mike Tirico too. He seems smooth as silk and never misses a beat to me.

Edited to say I like Mike's work, not necessarily his voice. The three in the OP are good choices

Honorable mention...

Ron Franklin was outstanding doing college football.

As a braves' fan, I have to mention skip Carey, Ernie Johnson, and Pete van weiren.

I loved these NFL crews growing up...

Gifford, Michaels, and dierdorf on Monday nights.

Joe theisman, mike Patrick, and Paul McGuire on Sunday night football. I know this crew wasn't very good, but I loved em

My 2 favorite teams to listen to ever are Pat Summerall/John Madden and going back old school how could you not love the old MNF crew of Gifford/Cosell/Meredith. I still miss hearing Madden with his quirky insights to the game.

Jon Gruden calls a good game on Monday nights. Kinda wish MNF would go back to ABC. I've had enough of Dancing w/ whoever and Bachelor/ette whatever.

I think I have to break it into each sport, because as we know with Jim Ellis you can be great in 1 and lousy in another

Pro Football: Summerall/Madden
Pro Baseball Individual: Scully
Pro Baseball Team: Pete/Skip/EJ or Pete/Skip/Sutton
College Football Team Radio: Larry Munson
College Football TV: Keith Jackson
College Baseball Radio: Jim Ellis
College Baseball TV: Jim Kaat
Pro Basketball: Marv Albert
College Basketball: Brad Nessler
Olympic Sports: Tom Hammond and Phil Liggett (tour de France)

For those wondering - yes I watch too much sports.

Fast forward to 3:35 for the iconic Phl Rizzuto call on Meatloaf's Paradise By The Dashboard Lights

For you younger pups, this is one of the greatest rock songs of all time. You should give a listen to the whole thing.

For local radio broadcasters I have to go with Jim Henderson who is the Saints play by play guy. When he was teamed up with the late Hokie Gajan that was can't miss broadcasting.

Dizzy Dean also belongs somewhere near the top.

Football is summerall/madden no doubt.

I think Gruden is best there is now...I like McDonough on all sports. His call of "the slide" is outstanding.

Baseball is jack buck/harry caray for me.
Color side i like joe Simpson and Steve stone was the most knowledgeable color guy I've ever listened to

Can't do the best without the worst:

Joe buck is awful at baseball...Tim mccarver was even worse
I'm as big a braves fan as anyone but Sutton was awful. He's a little better on radio tho

Too many to mention on football...Nantz and Simms suck...Chris Myers and ronde barber? Are you kidding me?!?

But the two absolute worst to ever sit behind a mic are both college basketball guys. Billy packer and Clark Kellogg are the worst there ever were. That perry clown calling the state championship games is better than these two.

Yes and just for the record the first year was Keith Jackson, Howard Cosell, and Don Meredith. Gifford had one more year on his CBS contract and did not come in till the second year.

I always thought John Ward from University of Tennessee radio was pretty good. Another longtime voice from a school.

Any list without Jack Buck and Harry Carey is incomplete. They're automatic First String. I'd also throw in Keith Jackson. And maybe Ron Franklin in his prime.

Yep. Jack, Ward, and Munson were the "Big 3" legendary voices of the SEC for ages.
