We need them. Mullen should have used them more throughout his tenure.

As long as we don't sign the Arizona Western types JWS signed. Think he signed about 4 or 5, none of whom contributed.

We could have definitely used JUCO better to fill one or two glaring needs on some of Mullen's teams. Usually OL and then either a pass rushing DE and a safety.

But for the most part, going heavy on JUCO is a sign that something went wrong earlier to require that. Mullen screwed up some past recruiting and we had some significant needs coming up, and to his credit, he has come through and gotten a lot of good prospects. Now just need to hit on enough of them to work out. Another good thing is that because we had spots from last year's class, we are largely not negatively impacting the number of high school recruits we can sign.

I think it's worth mentioning that even though we are going to sign as many as 10 Juco's, we still have the opportunity to sign 20-23 HS kids if we find the right guys. Sometimes Jackie would sign 25 kids with 10-12 being Jucos.
