As much as I want it to be Fitz, I think it boils down to his lack of consistency over the season. Terrible against LSU and Bama (not really his fault). Then, average in first half of the year. He'all be much more consistent this next year, especially if the Olins continues the way it played.

It's a little easier to lead an undefeated team with the talent they have, especially on the defensive side of the ball. They've recruited in the top 5 for how many years now? Hurts got a ton of short fields, tired defenses, and didn't have to face the Bama defense either. Also, Bama won some games with defensive and special teams scores that masked Hurts's turnovers. Fitz is the first SEC QB to throw for 300 and run for 100 since Manziel did it his Heisman year and is 3rd among all-time SEC QB's for a single season rushing total.
