The thing that gets me about TSUN is how they think they're above us. They are the "flagship" university of the state. Shoot, we're not even good enough to be their real rivals....

Let's take a look at the programs over the recent past. Certainly, a long time ago, they were the dominant program. If I counted correctly, from 1944 through 1973, we were 3 wins, 23 losses and 4 ties in head-to-head games with TSUN. Must have been miserable, to have only beaten them three times in 30 years.... No wonder they want "olden times are not forgotten"...because the current times aren't quite as nice. Let's fast forward to now....

Of course, the Egg resides in Starkville now. What is the series record:

Past 2 years, each team is 1-1
Past 4 years, 2-2
Past 6 years, 3-3
Past 10 years, MSU leads 6-4
Past 20 years, 10-10
Since going "on campus" in 1991, MSU leads 14-12
Past 30 years, 15-15 (let that sink in....over the past 30 years, we are dead even).

Bowls.... OK, TSUN has gone to 37 bowls and is 24-13 in those 37 bowls. We are 11-8 in our 19 bowls. But, again, recent past:
Since 2000, each team has gone to 9 bowls (counting our upcoming St. Pete Bowl).
Since 1990, each team has gone to 14 bowls.

That, my friends, is clearly a false sense of superiority.... #HailState

They know it. That's why they are so hostile any time anyone even remotely suggests the two programs being on equal footing in recent history.

But they always win the press conference and the have a lot more "money" invested in recruiting. They are killing it in recruiting, dominating...just ask them.

The tide began to turn with the integration of football teams. Since OM had their first African-American play in a game - in 1972, the last in the league - OM leads 20-25 on the field. That is not exactly dominance. And I think that having the game in Jackson from 1973-1989 played into it not being dead even during that period.

In all seriousness, this offseason could be the ugliest in a long time. Most of the time, even when they lose the Egg, they can claim their recruiting trophy. Not so this time; in addition to being blown out on their own field, they're dead last in the conference in recruiting, and barely in the top half of the nation. It's looking like they'll get Akers and will probably pad their class as best they can with numbers, but even then they probably won't break 30th nationally. They've got next to nothing to spin this year, and they're going to get nasty.

And even with all their cheating and Top 10 recruiting classes, I believe our overall record for the past 3 years is exactly the same. Of course when we beat Miami (OH) we'll be one game better!

Dan will end up one game ahead of Hugh over the past 5 years, with no show cause and a $4M+ job in 2017 while Hugh heads to the soup line. Who is the better coach again?!

That's a great poster. How could they not have head-to-head records from baseball? Surely those records exist. I thought the baseball media guide had like a record of every game that we ever played?

Apparently the records don't go all the way back to 1991, which I find hard to believe.

The Bismarck was a flagship too. It's been at the bottom of the ocean for over 70 years, right where unm is heading

Can you give me the all-time record of the Big 3 sports between OM and MSU?

Going back to the ACT scandal dates, I wonder how many of those wins are vacated?

This has long been my point: we are both average. I look at it with a smile on my face that we've both found success but, alas, they had to cheat to get there! We're so fortunate to have Dan Mullen lead us to seven straight bowls and a number one ranking from where we've been in my lifetime (starting to pay attention as a kid in the 70s).

Yet, I still get the snarky responses from black bear friends.

Just enjoy our success and gloat over the Battle for the Golden Egg win!
