Per CFB matrix. Ole miss at 1, state at 20, 9 total SEC teams in the top 20. I suppose that sheds some light on why this was widely considered a down year for the conference. Sec average was 21.1, compared to second place B1G at 35.6

So 20 gets you to bowl and 1 gets you chapped ass.

They did indeed have a brutal schedule. And some games turned out to be much harder than they were expected to be (e.g., us).

What are the odds they hang a banner?

Good thing you didn't include vandy in that. Seeing that vandy has won 6 of ten in the series from them!

SEC West average SOS: 13.9

SEC West had 6 schools with a top 20 SOS, the B1G had 3.

Can't take a single day off in the SEC west. Unless you're Alabama, there is no such thing as an easy win.

They lost the tie breaker in 2003 and lord and behold there's a banner hanging.

3rd straight year the team with #1 SOS didn't make a bowl as well.
