And he was told to stay there.

Howland said it is embarrassing to him, the team and the university.

I'd expect his ass to pay handily for that nap...

He's the sleeper of the class.

Nobody gets up for Southland opponents

Seriously, his career is off to a rocky start. Hopefully, he figures it out & doesn't go the way of Gary Ervin or Quay Evans

Has the talent to be one of the best PG we have had. But with Weatherspoon coming next year, one more strike and he's gone. Can't have that. Embarrassing.

Yeah, who is his roommate and someone should have checked on him. I did some stupid stuff as a freshman too.

We've had a bunch of freshmen at state and I don't recall anything like this. Guess it's better he was sleeping and not out with nick James haha

We've played 6 games- he has been suspended for 2 of them. There is a real problem and its not oversleeping for a game.

Howland will solve it or run him off. I have total faith

Hell no I don't believe it! I find it insulting that Peters or Howland would think that anybody would believe it. It's the same as "Womack retiring after the Egg Bowl" lie.

I agree. I believe him losing control at UCLA is what cost him that job. He won't let that happen again.

Peters just posted the longest single sentence, apology letter in human history. How a man says all that without a period is superhuman

Holy shit. I teach science but Jesus Christ son use a period. Sleeping till 50 minutes before a game is bad but someone letting him embarrass himself with that post might be worse.

He he legitimately over slept then I think a little extra "conditioning" might do the trick. And by little extra I mean run until you puke. If he intentionally missed because he doesn't give a crap then I'd say it should be over with for him.

Glad to see an apology. Better than him giving up. Hope he gets it together because we need his ability to break down defenses. Can't rely on Ready

Really strange to fall asleep and stay asleep all the way till 50 minutes before gametime when it's a 6pm night game. Is he ok mental health wise? Serious question here. That to me is a sign of something else going on like depression. I hope he opens up today with Howland. He is a talented player. Today is an important day for his basketball career.

Freshman/final exams approaching/etc...it happens. I took power naps in college and overslept for an important event as a freshman too. Part of growing up. He apologized on social media with no punctuation (actually, very common on that medium) and I am sure Howland is going to have a heart to heart with him.
While watching the game last night, I was telling my son that Peters wasn't there. Very strange, and now this...disappointing for sure. At least it was a weaker team, so we figured it out. Nice to see some different guys play though, was really surprised by the play of Singleton. And Eli W is finally coming into his own.
We got a W and need to move on/start learning how to play defense.

Also, from watching on tv...it looks like all the fans overslept too. Probably the lowest attendance EVER in the history of MSU bball. Pathetic.

Yea the fan turnout is embarrassing. Missouri baseball gets more fans than that.

Agree. not buying the he was asleep story. Definitely think there's something else working here.

Why was he suspended the first game again?

I don't know what the big deal is about. Bobby Boucher didn't show up to the Bourbon Bowl until half time and the mud dogs still won.

Peterson has to be on his third strike. Richard Williams used to run about one per class off, nothing wrong with that if warranted.

Problem is we'd only have one true point guard on scholarship next year if Peters can't get it together. Hope he does, really like what he brings to the table on both offense and defense.

yeah, let's not make too big a deal of this. No way he should be kicked off. Make him run, put him on an even shorter leash, but give him another chance to turn it around. I think he's our 3rd best player right now behind Holman and Ready.

Sidney was never our best player. Peters has that potential and Peters isn't lazy as **** on the court like Sidney.

Sidney had that potential too. That being said I hope the guy gets it together. Y'all are right, you don't kick him off, yet. I'd say two separate suspensions in his first four games isn't a good sign though. You can't let it go on forever or you wind up in Stans' shoes. For the record Stans' problems along that line started a bit before Sidney ever showed up.
