Seems like it to me too. I still think McE will be pretty decent long term at FL. We'll see how O does at LSU.

In other words, if you have a good coach hold onto him and pay your assistants!

Why would a head coach in his right mind come to the SEC right now when Alabama has 47 4 star or better recruits & 10 5 star recruits on campus this weekend after having the number 1 recruiting class in the country for 7 years straight?

They have no shot to win & their career means more to them than a few extra dollars or prestige. Saban's success is close to creating apathy across the SEC due to no one feeling like they have any chance of winning. What's the point?

No coach has that mentality.

Sure they do if given options. They'd be stupid not to.

Is there a term for projecting one's own thoughts as fact for everyone else's thoughts on the same topic? If not it should be called "Shotgunning".

SEC is a great place to coach. So is B1G for that matter. Saban, Meyer and Harbaugh would not scare me. That's how you make a name for yourself. LSU is weaker now, Georgia has taken a step back, Auburn is inconsistent and A&M is poorly coached. I think it's a great time to be coaching at MSU, Arkansas, Mizzou, SCar. Big opportunities to win in the coming years, even if you don't beat Saban.

But Shotgunning is pretty good and familiar.

We already pay our DAMN assistants. Some of them ain't what we are paying them now!! Damn!! Y'all kill my ass with this we don't pay propaganda!! We pay better than 95% of other teams and leagues

Texas was paying Charlie Stong 5 Million a year!! Was he worth a shit or would 3 Million more have made him better!! Damn !!!

Yep. Jimbo is a good example. Also, it sounds like Herman was just trying to get Texas to bite by flirting with LSU. I'm sure Ricky has a little new life in him at Miami knowing his road is much easier to he playoffs. Dabo probably won't take any other sec job except for Bama.

There are a bunch of coaches on other Power 5 Conference teams and non power 5 coaches that can flat get it done. What's hurting MSU is not having a DC that communicate what he wants done with the players and we need a special teams coach who is tied into the kicking camps and a Head coach who lets his guys coach and then holds them accountable.
