Texas wins although there's a helluva lot of meddling with the football program at both places from alumni and politics as usual. Texas has more money.

Is Herman worth fighting with Texas for?

LSU can't win that battle due to their own financial issues.

I realize LSU is O's dream job but I wish Herman would turn them down and O would tell them to get screwed when they came to him. I'd love to see the panicked scramble that ensues.

LSU should just stick with O and go out and pay whatever necessary for a good OC.

No way. Not if Texas really wants him. They passed on fisher for 6-6.5M. They won't pay near that IMO. They can't. The university is bankrupt. It would be terrible to pay a head coach $6M when your school is in financial straights. That's why they could hire Jimbo last year.
I think they likely end up with O for a few years. He'll recruit well there and I think he'll do well, but they're not beating Bama for a while. Hey LSU, welcome to the "rest of the SEC West."
