Arians is unsurprisingly not impressed by Nkimdashian's work ethic or maturity. If only they had known before they drafted him.

Here's another example...

1. Treadwell has to become a better route runner.
?He has to continue to do better in practice,? Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer told 1500 ESPN two weeks ago when asked why his new receiver wasn?t seeing the field. ?He?s working, just biding his time until he gets an opportunity like how [Stefon] Diggs was last year. I still think he?s thinking about the number of steps to take on each route and things like that, being at the right depth.?

That shouldn?t come as much of a surprise. Treadwell?s inability to separate was the biggest knock against him coming out of college, and while most people focused on his lack of straight-line speed, his unpolished route-running played a role as well. Sam Monson of Pro Football Focus wrote about this before the draft:

Treadwell consistently separates far less than most of the receivers in this class. Watching his tape shows a player that relies more on his physicality than getting open in the first place, which is fine for a receiver in college that is already a team?s go-to guy, but in the NFL may result in the ball simply not being thrown his way nearly as often.
?The biggest thing is, if you?re supposed to be at 14 yards, that quarterback is expecting you to be at 14 yards every time,? Ole Miss wide receivers coach Grant Heard told ESPN during the offseason. ?That ball is coming out in the NFL in a hurry. It?s those little things where you can?t be at 12 and you can?t be at 16, you have to be right at 14 and you have to be there when you?re supposed to be there.?

The good news is that route-running is a learned craft; something that should improve through repetition and practice. As long as Treadwell can learn the technical skills, his physical tools should allow him to be explosive out of his breaks. Everyone piled onto his slow 40-yard dash, but Treadwell actually had the fastest 10-yard split of any 2016 receiver prospect tested by ESPN?s Sports Science.

To say the three first rounders from last year have been disappointments in their rookie year is a HUGE understatement. Of course, this is what happens when:
1. The inmates run the asylum
2. Players are BOUGHT to play there instead of WANTING to play there (loyalty/passion is a big deal in college athletics)
3. Coaches can't be too stringent on players for fear of what they may say
4. Accountability is non existent from players to coaches
5. Everything exists within a blatant and purposeful culture of cheating masked by scripture references/mission trips

I don't know of any players that have improved during Freeze's tenure. They have to recruit at a high level, because they can't coach them up.

On top of that, they run that quadruple option play over and over. And you've seen this year when they don't have one of those pieces to make that play work, they struggle. If he can't recruit the way he's been recruiting he's going to struggle as a coach, wherever he may be.

Tunsil has been good. I guess since he's playing guard that could be a knock against him, but he's been quite good at guard.

The Flying Nigerian , if he doesn't straighten up, will soon be back in Oxford, blowing what money he has left on weed and white women, letting drunk frat boys buy all his drinks, and basking in everyone, once again, telling him how great he is.

Until one day the act grows old and he's just another washed up mercenary clinging to past glory and trying to hold a dollar.

If he was getting paid as a guard that'd be ok but he's getting paid as a left tackle.

You don't want to be paying a guard left tackle money. Then again it's the Dolphins, it's what they do.

Well he's on a rookie deal, so he's a bargain either way. Now if they resign him in 3 years to LT money but plan to leave him at G, then that'll be dumb.

Dolphins didn't need an OT, just saw a potential #1 talent fall to them with all the draft hilarity and figured he could play G for a year or 2 while also learning LT and probably be their emergency OT if needed for now.

All statements in this thread are true...what's funny is how Mullen catches flack for doing the exact opposite: making players earn playing time, rewarding hard work and loyalty, holding players accountable.

Think you are stretching the Mullen argument. Most people bitch because he favors seniority over talent. He does it every year and this year it cost us 2-3 wins.

Seniority that has earned the rite to play in mullen's mind. I'm not saying he's always rite but there's no doubt that his approach is the opposite of what this thread is making fun of freeze about.

Yeah head coach at Miami said tunsil was "unpolished" and lacked the technique and footwork to play tackle right now. That's a polite way of saying he wasn't taught anything at unm.

Meanwhile, a couple of familiar names who were drafted after Freeze's big three are both ranked in the top six (https://www.profootballfocus.com/pro-top-10-nfl-rookies-entering-week-12/) in the rookie class at this point.

That crap is waaaay overblown. Mullen plays plenty of young guys.

We can say what we want, but they are and they have been much better than us. Their talent is light years better. Who cares if they can coach them up. We lucked out on the one win we had in the last four years.

Playing our third string QB for 90% of a game when they were illegally playing players out of position and our D stepped up HUGE was lucking out?!? Clueless...

Same overall record over the past 3 years but they are "light years" ahead, eh? Nice one bear.

Truly clueless!!! I was thinking the Bears lucked out in 2014 when Walton carried it 90 yards b/c Chris Jones and another Bulldog got tangled up for what would've been a 5-yard loss giving MSU the momentum for the inevitable comeback. I was thinking the Bears lucked out last year to have 21 points spotted them in the 1st qtr only to see us again have to chase them down all damn game.

And all they have to show for is a Sugar Bowl win and impending punishment from the NCAA.
