Why don't coaches crossover into other sports?

For instance, I think Coach K would be a great coach whether he is coaching basketball or football or soccer...whatever. This happens in business all the time. Managers manage finance, then sales, then operations. What is the difference?

Because Coaches hate dealing with things they dont know. They are OCD about their work usually.

Also- coaching is a passion. Coach K is passionate about basketball- not football. He could give 2 shits about football.
