Not much, but at least the ground is wet

I think most places that saw rain are reporting between a quarter and half inch. Some places between Carroll and Montgomery counties and SSE of there may have seen more as they had a large band of heavier rain move through.

Here is what the NWS is saying has fallen as of 8:00am this morning. Most areas are in the quarter to half inch range. with one pocket of more substantial rain. Not close to making a dent in the drought or burn ban but at least settled the dust for a little while.

The rain will eventually come and then we will be wishing it went away.

The first drop that hit me in the head this morning knocked me smooth out. They had to throw a bucket of dust in my face to revive me.

In typical State fan fashion. "We want rain!" "Hell yeah, rain!" "I'm sick of all this rain. Remember back in the day when it used to be dry? Those were the good ole days."

I think this is human nature; we always want what we don't have.

Had a 10-incher here this morning ... the drops were 10 inches apart. Lasted about 30 seconds. There wasn't widespread coverage though. **
