Per twitter, TSUN is expected to pull Patterson's redshirt and let him play this weekend agains A&M. Should be interesting to see how that goes

I don't think Freeze is looking at the program's long term impact of pulling the redshirt. Also if the guy really is a type to leave after 3 years then I don't know why he wasn't backing up MGK anyway.

How good is this guy suppose to be? I honestly know nothing about him, I read he's like 6'1" tall and 200lbs. Is he a threat to run? I may be completely wrong but I don't see this working out very well for him or the Bears.

No idea about running, but you can't ask for a much better arm. TAMU defensive line is far from ideal for your first collegiate experience. Not sure he's going to have time to use his strengths or make his reads quick enough.

OM friend of mine says he's the next Manziel. But other than that, I don't know much about him other than he was a 5* recruit.

Let's see. Latest injury report has Conyers listed as doubtful or out (depending on source) and Rawlings listed as questionable for their game. Meanwhile, Myles Garrett is not showing up on the injury report leading one to believe he is good to go.

what like Manziel in that he is going to be a disaster off the football field..? based on the players there the past few years I can see that...

Ha ha Manziel? Patterson is athletic but he is not nearly as athletic and Manziel. Patterson can sling it that is about all I know other than he is not as athletic as Manziel. That is a horrible comparison.

I really don't think you can project how good or bad he'll be in 1 game. aTm has no way to know what to prepare for so Patterson could come out strong. I can definitely see aTm destroying om's oline and giving Patterson zero time, which would make Patterson look horrible. I wouldn't read too much good or bad from this game.

FWIW, I think om comes out bubble screen left and right, which aTm will stop. I think aTm wins by 2 td's

Unfortunately, Trevor Knight is out for the season now, too.

That's probably a major reason they're activating Patterson ... they think they have a good chance at winning the game now and thus a bowl bid. Plus, it gives him two games' experience by the time he gets to the Egg Bowl.

It'll be interesting to see how he does tomorrow since there's been so much hype.

No I take it as Old Misses knows they are ****ed either way with the investigation so they might as well try to win a couple more games before the hammer drops

You do realize he was the number 1 ranked qb coming out of high school, right?

We can speculate all we want, but the kid was ranked number 1 in the country for a reason- he can ball.

With that being said, I hope his first experience in the sec results in a few picks/fumbles and leaves both he and the ole miss fanbase with a lack of confidence heading down the home stretch of the season.

I think Freeze is more concerned on trying to salvage the season now, and hoping the OM faithful don't bring the roof down on him.

I think the 6'1" may be a little bit overblown, but maybe not. With his 5* rating in high school and other accomplishments, he had to be good in high school. The question is that he hasn't faced a probably hungry TAMU defense that was embarrassed by us? It should be very loud over there and a packed stadium. Something he has never experienced as a quarterback. But he may not even play. Who knows.

I imagine Myles Garrett will play if at all possibe. It may be Sumlin holding him out, or reducing his playing time due to injuries, but it won't because Garrett told his coaches he didn't feel like he could go. Garrett wants to be on the field.

If Shea plays or doesn't play it doesn't make a shit..
They still can't run the ball or stop anyone on defense..
They will have a long day in college station.

Eason was number 1 not Patterson. Look at how Eason played and he has had a full year. Playing Patterson now for three final games is dumb as shit regardless. He won't be that great as rusty as he will be on top of being a true freshman. Freeze is putting himself above the betterment of their team by making this move. I think A&M spanks them.

It's like I've said a few times on here before... someone posts a rumor, a couple of people repeat it and suddenly it becomes fact. The NCAA probably investigated him and may or may not have found any improprieties... at this point, I think they know they are screwed either way.

I think it's safe to say he's in the clear. He wouldn't play and risk being ineligible next year if he thought the NCAA had something on him. That's why I'm still having a hard time believing they will get hammered
