Exactly. People have no idea what this kid has been through & likely will continue to go through. He made a decision for himself in the end & did what he wanted to do but unfortunately his family situation may never be the same.

I wouldnt say he is a stretch....yet. He is good at rebounding, shot blocking and playing inside but needs to improve mid-range shooting and speed. He gets up and down the court good so I would say he projects to be a true PF.

You pretty much summed it up but his mid range game is pretty good out to about 15ft. I'm sure we'll expand that once he gets to campus. He's actually a sort of throwback player that he doesn't mind playing down low & banging.

Also NC State hasn't had the "issues" UNC has with academic fraud. That is a university problem not a head coach program problem similar to UNM.

So true. I had several UNC and NC State friends here in the Research Triangle that were overwhelmingly confident they were getting Malik Newman. They were completely clueless as to what was actually going on. Same thing happened recently with Nick Weatherspoon. And now Brooks. Strong delusions.

Garrison will be welcomed by the Bulldog fans with open arms. His dad, George, is a great recruiter (remember Hood?), and he gets along well with the big guys while coaching. Garrison made a hard, adult, decision, but it was his to make. He wanted to play for his dad, and for Ben Howland. Let's hope his mother quickly realizes her son needs her love and support, and that we see her at his games when he hits the floor.
