Any news slipping out of practice?

I really think our backcourt is gonna be good. I do have some concern with the frontcourt rebounding and defending. What's your concerns?

I think we will get our share of rebounds...with the rain from beyond the arch, Q and Kegler should get lots of rebounds and Herard, Datcher and Holman should be reasonably effective. It's gonna be fun to watch when we go small and spread the floor with three or four guys that can shoot the long ball.

Will we run Kegler at the 4 any? I feel like we could have some mismatches with Peters, Carter, Q, Kegler, and Herard out there together. I know thats asking alot out of your freshman, but we gotta have it.

He's going to play pretty much just the 4. I don't see him getting much p/t at the 3.

IYOK what is the deal with Kenneth Nwube? I see someone on another board talking about him as a possible for 2018 but he isnt even listed with an offer or any interest from us on 247.

He's 1 of Ohmar Carter's kids from MBA Hoops. He's pretty much followed Kegler wherever he's been. 1st in Jacksonville, then to Oak Hill. He's visited MSU a few times. I'm not sure if he has an official offer from MSU or not but he'll be 1 to watch. He's a very good defensive player but very raw on offense. He's only played basketball for 4yrs.

Only if we have a couple more consistent scorers to go along with Victoria. She has to carry so much of the load on offense & if she doesn't play well against great teams we have little chance. We need a couple more to step up & be consistent scoring threats so all the pressure isn't on her shoulders.

How far do you think they'll go in the tournament?

Also do you think the loss of Coach Lovato will hurt the development of the guards?

Yea from everything I've heard about the kid he's a smart guy. Problem is coming from Africa then going to 2 diff prep schools once he got to the states. African kids have more problems with transcripts than any other foreign kids.

Actually, while he may be released to practice, he will not play this season is what i read.

Kentucky doesn't even get everybody through. See Enes Kanter

Agree 100%.. Firmly believe that Ado is the 'missing key' to having an effective frontcourt .. and depth to get through the games.

We will miss Ware a lot more than most people think. Holman is the only big with experience and while Herard will contribute .. he is a true freshman. With Ado able to play, Datcher could either be brought along slowly or redshirt.

Datcher is a lot better than his recruitment showed. He was on everybody radar his Jr year then he got hurt late in his Jr year so he missed all of the AAU Spring & Summer. He will be able to give us 10-12min this year.

Not exactly. He did get $33,000 from a club team, but not all of it was impermissible; the NCAA just ruled that he received compensation above what was necessary. But there were discrepancies; Kentucky claimed $20,000 of it alone went to his educational expenses.

It was an interesting and unique situation. The NCAA certainly could have justified clearing him if they had wanted to.
