Scouts draft players on how good they actually think they are, not how good of a year they just had. Fred is significantly better than what he's showed this year.

This year will hurt his stock, but that's why Dallas will cherry pick him in the 5th-7th round instead of having to take him in the 4th

And,if by chance, Fred does go undrafted, Dallas will immediately sign him as a FA. Point is, he's more valuable to Dallas than any other team

Is it common for actual NFL starters to throw at the Pro Day for their university? Maybe it is, I just don't remember anyone else doing it.

I honestly don't think it's that. I think it's probably just the fact that Fitzgerald (who I think should be the QB FWIW) just doesn't have the same touch and accuracy that Dak did as a senior. Plus I think we are asking Ross to play the outside some and I think he is better in the slot which he is also doing some as well. It really shouldn't be too shocking that Ross's stats are down some because of that. Plus Gray and Myles haven't been the threats that Bear was when he was here. So, that probably means that people are keying in on Ross on defense more than they could last year. Also, when Ross does play the outside he's being covered by a corner and not a linebacker/nickle/safety which is not as favorable to him.

I'd like to see us play Couch more opposite Ross if for no other reason than to at least give us some size on the outside. Couch has looked OK to me the rare times he has played so I'm not exactly sure why he hasn't played more.

Couch is raw. I think he could handle the Treadwell route tree at this point though. At least decently. I don't think Couch should start but I think if he gave us 12-15 snaps he could help us out some.
