This has been a long week. 7 days ago we had packed up and gone inland right as the prediction for Matthew changed from "damn" to "oh,shit" within the "cone of death". We didn't know if we had gone far enough inland. We didn't know if we would have a home and a community to go back to. I've been coming to this place all my life, and lived here for almost half of it. It's one of those places that gets in your soul. I have marsh mud running through my veins. I know everyone loves their community, but this article shows why I love this place. Where else does a Ryder Cup Captain go out clearing debris, and the state patrol make sure our BBQ gets going so everyone can get fed??

Enjoy fellas.
