It is beyond dry out there just in case you haven't noticed. Every county in red is now under a burn ban with most of those counties banning all forms of outdoor burning with no exceptions. I know this is bonfire and leaf burning season, but please hold off a while as a spark now could end up getting out of hand very quickly. There were two brush fires near Ackerman yesterday. The good news is that the long range GFS is trying to hint at some possible rain chances late next week. Will it happen? Too early to tell. Will it be enough to lift the bans if it does happen? Not likely.

Go ahead and just tap out on that. This high pressure has us in a rear-naked choke and it is only getting tighter.

Same here in Alabama. We are getting crushed. Here in Shelby County we are in a Stage 3 drought and it's very possible with forecast projections for the next 10 days that we could end up in a Stage 4 Exceptional Drought. That would not be good. I haven't had to cut my grass in 2 months. Water restrictions will probably come out for me next week.

And the update to that comes every Thursday morning at 7 AM, so we should have a new update in less than 24 hours. We've been bone dry so I would expect expansion of all drought categories to happen here in AL.

The city of Birmingham has already placed water restrictions on their residents. We should see additional crack down on water usage if we get to Stage 4.

There is a positive to this for us delta boys - the price of grain may rise a lot this winter should no more rain than what has come so far continues.
I have food plots plowed with no seed because there's no point.
But my corn feeders are going through some batteries LOL!

I have also not cut my grass in over five weeks. I almost - almost- cut it this past weekend just to mulch some leaves falling from trees due to the drought. But they can stay, too haha
