Mike "Pickle" Reed died yesterday according to a Facebook post. His family lived next door in Columbus when I was 4 years old. They moved to Starkville but always caught up with him somehow. Too young, too early.

Thanks for combining threads, didn't see the other post right away.

Wow this is surprising. I saw him out and about about 10 days ago. Does anyone know the cause?

Prayers for him and his family

I worked with Pickle for 4 years at "The Club" in Columbus. I have some great memories of him. He was funny, nice and tough as nails if he needed to be. I will truly miss my friend. Late night breakfast at Shoney's with Pickle after a solid night or good fight could be lots of fun!! Lord Bless his family and comfort them in their hour of need. Amen

Great guy.

I knew him from his bouncing jobs and hung out with him often in the late 80's.

Far too soon.

I got into the middle of a scuffle at The Club one night. One second I'm in there....the next I'm jerked a few yards across the floor by my belt. Pickle told me to leave. I left.

I never knew him well but we had some mutual friends. We were on the beach in FL. ...and there he was. Friends called him over and he was nice as could be. Obviously he recognized the girls but didn't recall any of us guys. Ha!

Pickle was as well known around Starkville as Gerald.

My fondest memory of Pickle:

"Goddammit Mic- where's my hat"....He made me laugh so many times in the last couple years. We drank quite a few beers at the tailgate the last few years....one time he was showing me some pics on his phone of local women and it was just time well spent. RIP dude
