Grand slam came off of former Pillow Academy and LSU alum Louis Coleman. So you had Copiah Academy vs Pillow in the bigs. That's nuts.

Now we just have to do something about his jersey number

Amazing the Padres kept him in the minors until the last 2 weeks of the season. Just a terrible organization really. Hopefully renfroe succeeds and gets out of there.

He has closed up his stance and cut down on the leg kick. Looks like he put in the work to get comfortable and he obviously didn't lose any power. Hopefully he will be able to adjust when pitchers figure out how to pitch him. He has the tools to stay in the majors a long while as long as he keeps working as hard as he has.

What's his stats since he got called up? Trevor Story had a crazy start to his career and Renfroe is challenging it right now.

In 19 ABs he's got 8 hits, 4 HRs, 12 RBI, BA of .421, OBP of .450, SLG of 1.105 and OPS of 1.555. Oh yeah, 1 strikeout.

He certainly has the talent to be a great MLB player. It'll be interesting to see how he adjusts once MLB pitchers figure out how to pitch him

Where do those numbers rank All-time?

No idea but I can't imagine there have been many to do what he's done.

That is nuts...got to be the first time that's ever happened in MLB. Anybody know if either of these two won academy state championships in high school?

Hunter has gone HAM on MLB pitching. I hope he can keep it up. I really wished the Braves could have gotten him instead of Kemp. Kemp has done really well but I am just waiting on an injury.

No way the Padres were letting go of renfroe after losing trea turner last year.

Trevor Story had 7 HR's in his first 6 games in MLB. Doubt Renfroe will match that but also doubt Story had as many RBIs as Renfroe.

That's generally the type of number call ups get when they aren't expected to stay up.

Just looked it up. Story had 6 HR's in his first 4 games and 11 RBI's. Hunter unfortunately isn't close to that since he had two uneventful games to start his career.

I saw a tweet where Renfroe was one of two MLB players to have at least 7 RBI's in a game within their first 6 games of their MLB career. Other was J.R. Towles for the Astros.

Went to the state championship my senior year. Hunter was a junior. We lost to Lee academy. I believe we won it the next year in hunter's senior year. We were 2A back then now we are 3A

He's athletic enough and certainly has the arm for right field. He obviously has the power at the plate. The question mark for him is, and always will be, how he handles the strike zone. If he starts chasing pitches off the plate, the walks and batting average will go down while the strikeouts will go up. Hunter and his coaches have said as much. He must stay disciplined at the plate. Pitchers are going to start being very careful with him, and he's got to avoid chasing stuff outside the zone. Take some walks and force pitchers to give you something to hit. The sky is the limit for him. Would love to see him in the All-Star game soon.
