Here I was thinking him losing games was the reason.

What a recruiting coup by the webels. *****

I think it's more LSU fans being tired of him underachieving and giving them heart attacks with his two minute offense.

Miles was overheard saying "Shea Patterson? Never heard of her."

I don't disagree with you often but I think his 2 minute D has let him down more (against Bama). That's the main negative against Chavis.

Maybe it's if he had signed him they wouldn't have lost those games.

Shea Patterson won't be as good as MGK.

Les didn't get him because Patterson's brother got a better job offer from Mississippi.

I'm sure Shea and the Coach brother both got pretty good offers. There is a reason he isnt playing at NM right now...

Thought LSU recruited itself?

They may have fired him because he was a little crazy. According to Wikipedia, he won 78.9% of his games while Saban only won 75% of his games at LSU.

He would've quit before being fired bc of meddling dad. Those three meetings between daddy Patterson and Swaggart were not about Redshirting vs getting some snaps but daddy thinks Shea should be starting over Kelly.

I heard that Shea thinks the same thing.

Have any of the CLs hard hitting reporters asked the reverend why Shea hasn't played?

Crazy. Miles and Shea's dad both unemployed now. Maybe if Shea went there, they'd both have a job.

It's somewhat possible that it's all on the up and up. They know MGK is good, and barring injury they won't need Patterson this year. The other guy that's played a few snaps looked OK. So maybe they don't want to burn his redshirt. Chances are he'd be gone after 3 years, but it's always possible that he'd put in 4 years there (Dak did, and he's better than Patterson, presumably). Knowing their propensity for cheating, this scenario probably isn't correct, but one never knows. Not sure how they got him without some sort of payments though. Was he on our radar?

Any idea what Shea's dad does for a living (or did)?

The article is just a case of the rebs self aggrandizing. Patterson was committed to OM before the 2015 season and before Les's contract was extended last year. Les signs 5* Qbs, they just never pan out due to lack of development. Patterson has never taken a college snap so who knows if he's a miss for LSU, but there is a good chance he wouldn't have been developed at LSU. Bottom line in my opinion, he was fired for lack of developing a competent QB, not missing on an unproven 5* recruit.

It's not as impressive to pry away a QB from a Les Miles team as it is a 5* DB or DL from Louisuana. Which OM is not doing.

Honest question, is there a possibility that UNM is holding Patterson back so they will have at least 3 full years with the many receivers they already have to get them as far through the supposed oncoming probation as they can??

If so, the staff is deluding themselves by thinking a) more than one or two of those players will still be there after sanctions are announced, and b) more than one or two of they themselves will still be there after sanctions are announced.

Something with sports equipment or something like that. My buddy had dealings with him.

Maybe Miles thought Shea "didn't necessarily have the chest and ability to lead a program"

That doesn't make sense because their receivers are already using at least one year of eligibility without Patterson. If they were that deep it would make more sense to just redshirt them all if they really wanted them all to be together.
