That's how you coach to win a football game...
Anyone here who wouldn't take this guy over Mullen now?.

Years 9 and 10 at Utah, he was 5-7 both years. If a down year for Mullen is unforgivable in year 8, then surely years 9 and 10 are unacceptable for whittingham in an easier conference, right?

Maybe Belichick is bored with the Patriots. Willing to take on Saban head to head.

So you're impressed because he just beat a team that an SEC west team beat 52-6? You do realize that we compete in the SEC west don't you?

Whit doesnt have the talent that USC has. He doesnt have the talent base and he has recruiting limitations because he coaches at Utah and who he is allowed to bring in.

I'd stick with dan - not even a question. he does more with less as you say but compared to what? and this is kinda arbitrary but I'd prefer an offensive minded HC seems like whittingham was a DC

Helton could be like Malzahn just not very good. Whittingham has been with the Utes since '94.

That's kind of weird for the coaching profession.

Lol...after they win against a terrible USC I knew a thread was coming. The dude is over the hill in football coaching. They should have destroyed USC yet barely won. The conference is soft, the team is soft, and he's not an SEC coach.

Everyone has limitations with recruiting. Hence, you don't qualify you can't come. Sell that excuse to someone else. He has the entire U.S. to select and find "his players".

Why are there limitations on "who he is allowed to bring in"? Is it the Mormon thing, are they on probation, or what?

Yeah some people want to be so right all the time and only see things superficially without knowing the entire situation. As a manager at work, I would fire half my team each year for not finishing in the top half of the country after they had success the year before. Thins just happen mentally or whatever for awhile, and I have had people check out a bit thinking the next big job was coming. But they re engaged and went on to produce again.

Can we just stop it with all the Mullen is an ass, he is a shit, he doesn't want to be here, Megan hates it, he's stubborn shit?! It really is unproductive and old.

Maybe so but C34 has trolled this board for the last two years intentionally pissing off MSU fans just for site hits so you shouldn't be surprised that nobody backs his favorite candidate for a potential new coach.

All the thread and post said was the guy can flat out coach .. And asked a question would you rather have this guy running our program or CDM..
I do know this ... One certain coach would have kicked that FG and MAYBE sent that game into OT last night.. Or it could have bounced off the upright

And btw the RB is a true Frosh from Fla.. Guess there offensive scheme doesn't take 2 years to figure out..

Banner and JuJu S-S are probably 1st rounders. Jackson, wheeler, mama, Davis, and Ruffin likely to be drafted. Browne is possible too.

USC has talent

Yes they do... It should be a big reality check for Umiss, this is freaking USC and they are still struggling depth wise at talent from the sanctions .. Which is now 7 years in...

I've always like KW as a coach. If Dan left, I would like KW as our coach. I don't think it's a huge difference between Mullen and KW though... I wouldn't fire Dan to get KW

we could do alot worse than KW if Dan left and definately wouldn't fire dan to get him. the later is pure hyperbole tho - that thought hasn't crossed the mind of the powers that be I'd hope

And is the guy we should really be keeping an eye on. I really like what he is doing on D, and think he could easily slide into the HC spot if we were to make a change. Not as flashy as some others, but I think he is the kind of guy who makes a top notch head coach.
