Whole lotta hoops officiating changes going on

I have a good friend who is an NCAA ref. He told me a whole lot of officiating changes are coming this year. For post players, when they are down low in the block, deference is going to be given to the defender. In the front court offensive players will get more leeway. If a guard is stopped he is granted a ?cylinder.? If the defender enters the cylinder he is subject to a defensive foul. For example, if a guard stops and a defender presses him and the guard swings his elbows and clocks the defender in the face, the guy on the floor with the broken nose will be charged with the foul.

I guess ?karate defenses? are on the way out.
