We said that every single year of Croom, and nothing ever changed. This is year 8 of Mullen, and nothing has changed. Next year will be more of the same, with a much more difficult schedule. Mullen is what he is at this point, and we are regressing at an exponential rate.

I'm usually just as optimistic as you are, but I can't hold out any longer. We are a bad team, and the coaches don't seem to care. We will be even worse next year.

I have been going to State games for 50 years as a season ticket holder. Seen a lot more bad than good. Not easy to be a State fan, but wouldn't have it any other way. We are a long way from a bright future at this particular time in my opinion. Stubborn HC, constant coaching turnover on the D side, questionable use of what talent we do have, bottom of the SEC every year in recruiting, and some O coaches that need to go but seem protected. I'm no fortune teller, but I did predict Tech and 10 to my late father after watching the one win. We are at this point totally non-competitive against the big boys of the SEC West. This will include Bama, UNM, aTm, LSU, and maybe Auburn unless Dan makes some major changes. Disclaimer: I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn last night however.

We deserve much better in year 8 of a coach's tenure. Loading up with JC players in year 8 shows you can't recruit good HS players and are at the end of your rope. They are in JC for a reason and some not good. Jackie tried it at the end of his tenure ( I loved Jackie, but the wheels fell off), and it hurt our program more than it helped. I'm sure talented HS recruits would love working hard to "develop" in our program to see JC players come in for quick playing time.
