"UCLA assistant claims he didn't know the rules. NCAA didn't buy it. Doesn't bode well for Ole Miss."

UCLA OL coach just got a 2-year show cause for arranging training services and housing for two recruits worth $2,400 that he paid for outside of NCAA rules.

"The NCAA characterized the violations as Level II, which is the second-most serious in the new four-tiered system....."

And how many Level I's are the Bears looking at? This also only involved 2 recruits. How many Bear recruits and signees have been under scrutiny?

Is this foreshadowing? “The hearing panel was quite troubled by the associate head coach’s statements of ignorance of the rules,” the report said.

"As the SEC’s annual meetings kicked off at the Sandestin Hilton, Freeze took responsibility for the rules violations, but insisted there was no intent to cheat.

“I stand here today owning the mistakes, but that is what they are,” he said while nearing the finish of a lengthy prepared statement, “and not some staff out trying to buy players.”"

“To me there is a difference in making a mistake and a willful intent to circumvent rules to try and gain an advantage,” Freeze said.

There is no way anyone at Ole Miss feels good about their chances. The NCAA seems to be reminding people that they still enforce the rules and the ones they have already reminded do not have nearly as many transgressions as the Bears. Some fans may still be drinking the kool-aid but the coaches and administration know they are screwed. That's why winning tomorrow is such a big deal for them. If they lose tomorrow they know its all pretty much over with and they really didn't accomplish shit compared to the lengths they went to.

Freeze, Maurice Harris, Derrick Nix and Kiffen will all receive show causes. This isnt a question of if but how long.

No one is enjoying this season more than the Rebs because the focus is now on football, but trust me no one has forgotten what is about to happen up there. Things are only getting worse for them as we speak.

The NCAA is preparing to sodomize that ass.

They are setting precedents that lock them into the bare minimum of penalties.

That's why they signed the player that Penn State dropped. That way they'll be practiced at the art of anal insertions by the time the NCAA arrives with the viagra.

"Klemm told the NCAA he believed the arrangement was legal because the players had already signed National Letters of Intent with UCLA. That statement was the basis for the NCAA to slap him with an unethical conduct violation."

Additional reason within this for the Bears to clench up. Makes it crystal clear that lying, deflecting, or delaying the NCAA's efforts is going to make it exponentially worse for you than it could have been.

Heard they hired a special enforcer to hand down the punishment. Don't know a lot about him, but he has a teardrop tattoo and just got through doing 25 for armed robbery and his nickname is anaconda.

The thing that would scare me most is that this is a summary disposition.

Ole Miss is fighting and has to go before the committee.

Better hope their "great legal team" can get them off.

Maybe Scruggs and Langston will deliver some "Sweet Taters" to the committee before the hearing.

This is a great point. What happens to them after they lose tomorrow? Like you said its pretty much all over at this point with no great accomplishments. Do the players and coaches just mail it in from here on out? Personally I think after they lose tomorrow they go full Auburn in Chiziks last year. Just totally quit. That's what happens with mercenaries.

If you could photoshop NCAA on his chest and have him landing in the middle of the grove or VHS.....now THAT would be major...

In my complete uneducated opinion, it's quite possible. I don't think people, especially Ole Miss fans, understand how completely insane 8 level one violations are. Not to mention all the level twos they have. AND THE NCAA ISN'T DONE YET.

And in multiple sports overseen by an AD that's a complete douche nozzle. They are so screwed right now.

I wonder when the narrative will change up there. Once the addendum is released, if it's as bad as everyone says, it wouldn't surprise me if the Chancellor cleaned house and the university tried to paint Bjork and Freeze as "master manipulators" who tricked Ole Miss and sullied their reputation. They'll call for the NCAA to give Freeze and Bjork lifetime show causes but go light on Ole Miss because they "didn't know" and got rid of the bad apples.

Before I first read the noa, I would've agreed that 30 over 3 is dead on. Now, I think that's not strong enough.

when I first heard those figures it seemed like alot - but you're right.

it's just conjecture I'm sure but a family friend who is big time BDC $ and has access to people at state that most dont. seemed confident in those numbers .

shall see how it turns out

Thing is, it's not JUST 8 level one violations... It's 8 level one violations where many were repeated on numerous occasions. I contend the NCAA may honestly not know what to do with a case of this magnitude and lack of cooperation, especially if they are continuing to uncover more and more violations.

Please sweet baby jesus, let the hammer fall forcefully so as to make TCUN an example to other NCAA institutions who may be thinking of establishing a NETWORK OF CHEATERS!!!

I think the window for that has already passed. They had a chance to fire them and didn't. Now they all go down together.

Exactly. It's 8 CATAGORIES of level one violations. There are multiple individual violations in most of them. I saw it broken down somewhere, it's actually over 60 individual level ones that are specifically listed in the first NOA.

The NCAA may force them to burn down the Inn as part of the penalties. These seem to be levels of cheating even SMU never reached.
