I'd say SC because of the size of the population base in he region and ability to get players from Atlanta and other large cities. Atlanta probably has more D1 prospects than Mississippi.

Also, being in east is easier than being in the west right now. You're guaranteed a few losses in the West, while we've knocked off the best teams in the East in UGA and Florida.

South Carolina because its closer to FL, Atlanta, and Charlotte. 3 Honey holes of recruits. I don't think stadium size or brand has much factor.

Agree but it took a transcendent coach like spurrier to really win. Agree about the ATL proximity and talent level in GA

Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong... but South Carolina HS football is better than Mississippi HS football.

I think a good argument could be made about the level of coaching in SC > MS, but talent levels I'll take MS for a per capita standpoint. So I guess it could go either way depending on how you view it.

D1 schools per state matters more. Way too many D1 schools in MS. Too many D1 schools per capita.

We can have tons of NFL players per capita, but that means nothing if they've got 2, 3, or 4 x more population than us - not to mention us having WAY more in-state D1 schools per capita.

The Atlanta region has much more D1 players than the state of Mississippi. Columbia SC is harder to win at than Starkville, their record proves it.
