I thought about not going but since we only have 6 home games this year we'll be there. But no promises about staying the entire game. We're on the east side, and the midday sun will be a definite factor.

This killed it for me. No time to dove hunt before or after and then nail in the coffin was heatstroke time 11-3. Not this year bubb.

I'll be there. Temps will top out at 91 near the end of the game. It's really not going to be that bad weather wise. I'm gonna enjoy Saturday and ring my cowbell all game long.

I hope so! I'd hate for our team to play without a head coach*****

I'll be there.

Here is another question. What is worse for a fan, a football day-game in early September or a Tuesday night baseball game in late February?

While both can be, and usually are miserable, I vote cold baseball. Something about having to get dressed like I'm going duck hunting just to go sit in the coldest place in Starkville to watch a summertime sport doesn't seem right. Oh, I'll be out there in February bitching about the cold at a baseball game just like I'll be there Saturday bitching about the heat. The funny thing is, if it were a baseball game Saturday, I'd be saying "This is PERFECT weather!"

Man I'm in full agreement! I love baseball but it was not meant to be played in the cold. We played a tournament a couple years ago and it was snowing! Football in warm weather defintely better than baseball in cold.

I'm missing the first home game in about 7 years but it was either a 11 am vs USA or next weeks 6pm vs USC. It wasn't a hard decision.

Me + family. Looking forward to it. It's been easier for me to attend the bowl games the last couple of years than make a home game due to location.

I'll be there on the East side and I'll stay until the last whistle. Plus I'll get to spend the weekend with my senior daughter who texted me tonight that she is in the new We Ring True video. Sorry for the mid-thread brag (not really, I'm very proud of her)

For the record, I said the heat was the final straw for me. I've been to plenty of hot games. We dove hunt in Madison County and I haven't missed many home openers even if I hunted the morning.. But with the 1100am Start this year, I don't see leaving the morning hunt early and rushing up there to sit in the heat nor trying to come barreling back afterwards at unsafe speeds to get in the field either. And I have never left a game before the final second came off the clock...not once in 132 games. Not once. So I wouldn't leave the game early either. It's just not happening this year and the heat is what made the final decision for me.

I kickoff was as late as even 100pm I would be there.

I'll be there 45 minutes early and leave when the clock strikes 0. I simply enjoy watching football and there are few places I'd rather be. The heat is a non factor me.

+1 - Rep earned but, unfortunately, not given. "You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Jack Lambert again."

For those of you saying it's going to be hot as hell out there, you're wrong. High is only going to be 91. Heat index of 94. Wind will be 5 MPH (good, comfy breeze). If you can't handle that, then I don't know what to tell you. That's as good of an early September day as you're gonna get. It actually would have been WORSE if it were a 3 PM kickoff.

For the dove hunters :)

- Is dove season only one day long? Go Sunday, or some later day.

- Yes, hot at the game, but no cooler out hunting.

My uncle organizes it. Unfortunately, the only big hunt is usually opening day.
