It truly is incredible and will be quite the show when everything finally hits the fan. I am wondering how quick they turn on Freeze? I just do not see how they can still truly believe it is still not that big of a deal. I would like to think if we were in their situation we would recognize what is about to happen. They have to know deep down that this is not going to end good.

From the article:
"NCAA Enforcement representatives have visited Auburn and Mississippi State, and perhaps at least one more SEC Western Division school, this summer to speak with players who were recruited by Ole Miss. The players were granted immunity from potential NCAA sanctions in exchange for truthful accounts of their recruitment, sources said."

Curious as to who was interviewed....that immunity should scare the crap out of OM fans.

Ole miss fans really remind me of the lyrics in the old megadeth song, "Symphony of Destruction". Tell me this doesn't sound like Freeze and Bjork and how they manipulated the TSUN fans:

You take a mortal man
And put him in control
Watch him become a god
Watch people's heads a'roll
A'roll, a' roll

Just like the Pied Piper
Led rats through the streets
We dance like marionettes
Swaying to the symphony
Of destruction

Acting like a robot
Its metal brain corrodes
You try to take its pulse
Before the head explodes
Explodes, explodes

Just like the Pied Piper
Led rats through the streets
We dance like marionettes
Swaying to the symphony
Swaying to the symphony
Of destruction

I have long thought that Golson could come back and bite them, he was obviously not happy at olemiss. Olemiss supposedly bought Daniel and then lied to him, telling him that they weren't going to recruit anymore DE's, while throwing everything they could at Chris Jones the whole time. That is what led Daniel to auburn.

Kellenberger: NCAA determined to get Ole Miss

"Forget Cleveland State. The NCAA is so mad at Ole Miss it’s just going to hammer Ole Miss.

For months I’ve been saying that if the violations contained in the original Notice of Allegations were all the NCAA had on the Rebels after a four-year investigation, then Ole Miss would get hit but it would survive.

But if the NCAA is going around to other Southeastern Conference schools (including Auburn and Mississippi State) and offering immunity to players for “truthful accounts of their recruitment,” as Yahoo Sports reported Thursday morning, then let’s call it for what it is. It’s a fishing expedition, and the NCAA is not leaving until they have caught their limit."

True, no doubt, that's why I don't listen much. But there is a huge State presence in Memphis now. In fact, I went to the ECS v Briarcrest game last Friday night and I saw more Dads and kids wearing State stuff than ANY other school. This is the raw beauty here.

Their normal first line threat although usually idle (from the largest donor to the fan working at the fast food joint) is we'll sue them.

They can't afford to and they know it. They are boxed in.

The only real protection they have is the NCAA's lack of power. They sue, they give the NCAA deposition power.

You think they told them the truth while lying to everyone else? They're about to make the USC case look like child's play. SMU Part 2. This will be the closest thing to the death penalty we've ever seen with the obvious exception being the actual death penalty, and if I were an OM administrator id be worried about that as an outside possibility at this point if they continue to uncover everything they've done.

Ole Miss got caught LYING to the NCAA. It is fairly obvious that once the NCAA saw that Ole Miss had been lying the entire time about Tunsil, it was at that point that they decided they were going for everything and follow every single lead they had on everything involving Ole Miss.

If OM had come clean at the get-go ( THAT would have been exemplary cooperation) this would have already been over and done

Someone just forwarded me this from spirit chuck's chat...

spiritchuck:
"later guys/girls. . . . I can't deal with teh angst of this when there isn't a dang thing we can do about it and we are on the cusp of a fun season. It will end when it ends and we will deal with it. We have overcome worse. In the meantime, I am going to put my head in teh sand and enjoy the season."

What is going to be fun about knowing it will never count and that the players will likely mail it in?

and while we are on that, why is the ncaa going to let them delay judgement if already found guilty? I just dont get what the ncaa is obligated to wait on. The ONLY thing that can come from the delay is more punishment.

I also have a hard time believing the ncaa would completely take the death penlty off the table given the number and egregious nature of the violations being committed. That and the false statements by the AD that indicate his focus is more on perception than actual compliance.

This case, every bit as much as the smu case has all the features of a rouge program.

It wont kill me if they dont get the harshest punishment sice the pony express, but im not sure there is much of a precedent for the COI to go on.

Yep, being truthful about Tunsil would have gotten them the 9 over 3 but now the entire Network is in jeopardy. What would have been a slap on the wrist has now turned into a full on beat down.

There's the thing, the NCAA will take ages to finalize action against the University....but the players have no such luxury. If they have the goods on any of their playerd, they won't be playing. I expect to see multiple suspensions pop up at game time opening day.

I could be wrong but I disagree. I think the NCAA let's them play the kids and just punishes the school retroactively- vacated wins or whatever.

My question is this: investigations are ongoing. Will these findings amend the current NOA, or will the NCAA just reload and hit them with a 2nd One?

If they find out that current players were paid and given benefits they cant let them play. So if thats the case, I think we will see suspensions get handed down and that will only turn out worse for the Rebs. I just dont see any outs for them at this point. This is just like the SMU where the coaches had to just throw up their hands and say let it ride until the end.

I don't think there's a chance in hell that any of the Power 5 Conferences would let the death penalty be levied against any Power 5 COnference School. Just too much TV money at stake. They can hammer Ole Miss without causing a problem with TV. ESPN may not be crazy about having to broadcast a game between say a decimated SEC school and a cupcake DI school, but at least they get to televise the game. If they can't televise the game period, I would assume that would result in a reduction of money paid to the SEC under the contract.

The quote below removes all doubts to objectivity by the clarion rebel. Anyone that still thinks that it was an accident in Tenn. that caused the cr to headline thanks to TSUN when we won the SEC in baseball is simply stupid! There is no objectivity the cr is the DM south version.

This quote from Kellenberger's propaganda piece is just embarrassing.

"At some point Ole Miss will have to reconsider its stance towards the NCAA, which has always been one of absolute respect and deference. What has that really gotten Ole Miss? Its fans, and I?m sure some people in the administration building, are long past ready to go on the offensive over this. Will athletics director Ross Bjork join them?"

Then combine it with what Wolken tweeted this morning. Seems conflicting

I went to NAFOOM to get a read on their angle. I understand that the posters there only represent a very small portion of their fan base but damn. At what point do those guys just finally accept that the NCAA has the goods and they are F--ked? They are arguing about partial immunity verses blanket immunity and who did or did not snitch on them. They have to be kidding themselves if they think "all is well". It would be interesting if some of those posters took a polygraph test and were asked "do you believe Ole Miss football will be proven largely innocent"? Would their answer reveal they are not being truthful? They can't really believe what they are saying.

They won't get the death penalty but the NCAA may hammer them so hard they wished they didn't have a football program. If they nail them with big scholarship losses over multiple years, bowl bans and show causes that place will be radioactive for at least a decade and watching the beatings they take on the field will be more fun than if they got the death penalty.

Straight from an SEC asst. coach, who has been in this league for 20 years, and not even talking about OM, direct quote, "Some of these kids are so hard up, if you give them a bag of cash, they could give 2 shits about bowl games or championships."
