Why?

With him switching schools & I'm not sure if he was in any classes this summer the odds of him getting out by next summer looks to be slim to none.

Why does 247 have a few of our former 4 stars listed as 3 stars now in juco. Did they lose some ability over the last year or two?

Same reason we don't re-sign every juco kid that we sign and place.

Now, its possible the kids are simply misrated, but it is just as possible that the kids are instant impact. Trust the coaches, they wouldn't be taking Jucos unless they were good enough to help us. Don't worry about stars, good or bad.

In addition to being able to make a more accurate evaluation in juco, it seems to me like high schoolers' ratings get more benefit of the doubt on long-term potential while jucos' are mostly graded on instant impact.

eta: it can also work both ways; I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure Donald Gray's juco rating was higher than his HS rating.
