At OT the word is that Rankin finally looks like what we thought when we signed him and has the left side locked down even though he can play right too. Now here's the good part. There is talk that Elgton Jenkins might beat out Justin Senior. That is great news. Personally, I don't see Hev or Dan making that move to start the season but if Jenkins slowly overtakes him, so be it. I'm not hating on Justin Senior but if we're making a guy that's played and started that much the swing tackle, that's great.

On the inside there is talk that Clayborn is primed for the best season of his career. He's among the strongest on the whole team and is ready to rip. He's beyond pumped for the year. Talk that Deon Calhoun is our best lineman.

If Clayborn has his best year, Jenkins beats out Senior, and Calhoun comes into his own, next year's line will look more like 2 years ago than last year.

I'm worried about desper. Any improvement with him?

Uh oh! I see this as a huge problem. This opens up a whole 'bother can of worms for this coaching staff. We will have issues both in season and in the off season. If the OL doesn't suck then some of our posters won't have anything to complain about. Big problem.***

I've been wondering if it was possible that Darryl Williams could beat him out

I been wondering the same thing. If the ol is good what becomes the number 1 thing to complain about?

Color me skeptical. Hev is a moron. Not one of our o-linemen would start at any other team in the West.

You know if somebody that didn't know State football read this board sometimes they would think Dan went 0-12 every year lol

I hope these whispers are right. We find out about our OL in 30 days.

Slow down, slick. Let's try to enjoy Weeks 1 and 2 before the potential massacre.

I've heard Clayborne looks "beastly" but haven't heard anything on the others.

Rankin would definitely start at TSUN and the barn

I like the OL whispers much more than the QB whispers.

I'm hoping for 9 wins not 7;

I'll know if we have shot in 30 days. The first two games will be blowouts, but we won't know much about Our team until LSU.

Was told back in early summer that o line was much improved and would be better than expected. Still to be determined however.

Little bit of a spinoff question, but what style of OL blocking will we use in the running game, given the personnel we have?

Still get juiced remembering Q Saulsberry pulling across in front of Relf and Dixon back in 09

I just wish when they are on the side line he would at least look like he is paying attention to the coach when they are talking to the lineman. He sits at the end of the bench with his helmet half on his head and looks lost like he doesn't care. It might just be perception I don't know but I do know others sitting around me have noticed it.
