Just became the 11th person to watch today's interview of Josiah Phillips and his earning a full scholarship as a linebacker at State, home schooled, 9 boys and 4 girls in the family. Great success story from a hard-working true Bulldog. I encourage all to view. Sent chills down and spine and made me even prouder of our program. Maybe one of you guys can link it. That part is over my head. Thanks, Hail State!

I've met some of his family, they're all outstanding folks. I've heard his dad used to be a strength coach at MSU? Not sure of the details. Awesome to see he was able to get a scholarship.

You can see it at Josiah Phillips August 17, 2016 you tube. Sorry, I'm not more tech savvy and don't know how to link.

That’s awesome. And who knew that we had an eight man flag football league in Mississippi?

I am pretty sure I had his dad for First Aid/CPR either in the Fall or Spring 2000. I saved it for an elective one of my last semesters.

Made me even prouder to be a Dawg. This is an example of what's really good in college sports.

Wow. I'm not gonna lie, I teared up listening to that young man speak. What a good guy with a great head on his shoulders. Despite all the tough things he's been through, he gives God the glory. Amen, Josiah. Congratulations man, you deserve it and I know I couldn't be happier for the guy and his family. I hope he gets some snaps and gets to make a few plays. His Dad is smiling.

An amazing testimony of character and hard work. This is one of the many stories that make me proud to be a bulldog.

Josiah is a great kid and comes from a great family. He is one of the most respectful kids that I've ever met. I was hoping to get him to join the Corps.

What an awesome young Christian man, glad Coach Mullen rewarded him with a scholarship. I've always been proud to be a Bulldog, but I'm prouder after watching that video!

Wow...from QB, to TE, and then to MLB. What a burden that family has been carrying with active members in the military and one paying for his tuition. Now that he's on scholarship, he gets access to the food card and cost of living money which is huge to some of these walk-ons. Is he expected to contribute on special teams?

Does this mean he can eat the food after practice instead of, per bonner, just standing there watching the scholarship players get to eat? **

"Embrace the suck." He's now one of my favorite dudes.
