I heard some National ESPN radio guy say the UM-Fla State game is for a national playoff spot. Another guy talking the bears as a Top 10 team.

I count four losses for the bears, maybe more.

What say ye?

If they beat FSU, they'll only be an underdog in one game the rest of the season. And that game will be a home game.

Hes right in the sense that if FSU loses they are out of the playoffs.

They lost their whole OL and the best 3 players they've ever had and their schedule is harder.

But they'll be better than last year.*

You are correct. LSU slipped my mind.

I think the point still stands... A win against FSU puts them in a great spot. But I don't think they'll win that one.

Jimbo will be highly motivated in that game to make a statement against the sec in a nationally televised game early in the season. That plus fsu returning a ton is bad news for the bears. They lose by 14+

All he probably knows is Ole Miss is coming off a BCS win and has a Top 5 QB. Like it or not, the 3 fir$t rounder$ helped give OM some street cred amongst the casual fan.

I agree. It's a must win swing game for Ole Miss. A win sets them up for another really good season. And it will give them confidence.

What happens if the bears lose big? I'm in the camp that says a 2-2 start will be very good for the bears.
I think they open 1-3. Saban has lost the last two years off of multiple fumbled kick returns and freak plays. It ain't happening three years in a row.

They are going to live and die by Kelly's play and honestly while he threw really well last year the big thing was how many plays he made scrambling.

This year teams will need to play contain and try to keep him inside the pocket

Take it to mean the loser is out of contention for a possible spot. FSU loses and they won't be able to climb back up high enough to get in.

FSU is probably overrated too. They lost to GT last year and Houston. I think this will be a tight game. 50/50

Ole Miss is almost a carbon copy of Mississippi State from last year. They have a good qb and they are going to suck dick on the oline. They lost some key guys on defense as well. The schedule is absolutely brutal and they will be fortunate to win more than 7 games. The o/u is 7.5 games for them in Vegas in some spots. A lot of people that do this for a living know that they aren't that good.

I'm with you. If they can't do better than 9-3 with the teams they had in 2014 and 2015, not a chance they do better in 2016.

The winner of that game will definitely be on the fast track, but a loss by FSU certainly probably puts them out of the race for the playoffs. I'm guessing a loss by FSU might drop them 8 or 10 spots, although I don't think we will get the chance to find out.

Saban better not let kiffin get cute again. That cost them the game 2 years ago and last year to a lesser extent. In '14 they had a 10 point lead late in the second half and kiffin was runnin the freakin air raid.
