Someone mentioned this as a streaming device that you can get movies and other content with.

It's an app, not a device. You can put it on a tablet or a computer or a FireStick. You can then run in and install add-ons that are like mini apps that scour the internet for streaming sources. One of the most useful and easiest to use is called Exodus. You can search nearly any movie or TV show ever made and get a list of sources from which to stream it. Some are obviously illegal bootlegs - usually movies still in theaters. But sometimes there are HD versions of new movies long before DVD release. Maybe screening DVDs for academy voters? No idea.

There are also streams of live broadcasts from networks all over the world and those can't possibly be legal but there you are. I cannot recall ever seeing SEC Network available. Usually you search for these using other add-ons like Navi or others. Navi is powerful but the amount of collected porn that you have to dodge to get where you're going is enough that this is a no kids allowed app. Even some folder names that come up in searches are nsfw.

I have used kodi to watch movies and TV while traveling internationally especially now that netflix has cracked down on VPN use.

Good luck.

I have the Kodi App on my android devices and it's great to have when traveling. If you are looking for a device that you can use with your TV do a quick search for a XBMC SMART box.

I recommend the Top Tutorials build for Kodi.

You can install on iphone or ipad, but I don't think it's as simple as on the android OS.

No, takes about 15 minutes. Below is a YouTube walk through:

What about NFL Sunday ticket?
I'm trying to avoid spending that chunk of change this year. Going to a bar every week ain't cheap either.

It has been awhile since I have used this to watch sports, but I believe there is an add-on called pro sports that streams games from reddit. I have used it to watch a few Cardinals games this summer.

am i the only one who worries about illegality of it all?? I had someone explain the process to me and no way it is legal. a one time payment of about 65 bucks would beat the hell out of my 198.00 per month dish bill, but i can't run the risk if it is illegal

Not illegal to stream, think of it as youtube.

I use it for watching TV shows and movies. Exodus is incredible.
I have had zero luck trying to watch live TV or sporting events.

The way it was explained to me is that you are not downloading the content, you are just pulling data from another server. Someone may know better than I do about the legality of it.

Not if they aren't charging for you to watch it. If there's streaming data in the world from a movie for example whose property is that while it's streaming? It's just information in the atmosphere. If my device just happens to show it on your computer and nobody is saving or keeping a hardcopy of it anywhere than there's no stealing taking place.

so if i let you borrow a car for an hour or two, that I stole, you are innocent?? Knowing that the car belongs to someone else, that someone paid money to own that vehicle, and it was intended to only be used by the owner and maybe some direct family members or friends?? but instead, I come along and take it for myself, but then let whoever wants to borrow it for a little while...come on, that can't be legal, can it?? because essentially someone has taken control of licensed media content and then made it available to anyone who wants it, for free
