I think Vegas sees something our own fans don't.

It's not that far of a stretch. The only games I have marked as L's are LSU and Bama. Everyone is acting like we lost Dak and had nothing else at any position. This may be the deepest team we have ever had talent wise.

I don't bet on or against us, but I'm tempted to load up on under. 10 regular season wins? That's a tall task

does this include bowl? I don't see us winning 10

For reference, Sportsbook has us at 6.5 regular season wins. Degenerates, proceed as seen fit.

Has to be just regular season. 10 wins puts us on the doorstep to Atlanta. That'd be 2 more games.

Holy cow. The book I use has us at 6.5. I took the over, which we only cover with 7 or 8 wins. 9.5 is crazy talk.

If we go 9-3 Dan should be up for COTY.

Bovada Win total over/under (historical)
2015 - 7 actual 9-4
2014 - 7.5 actual 10-3
2013 - 6 actual 7-6
2012 - 7.5 actual 8-5

9.5 seems high and may be an over correction due to them losing their asses the last 4 years by missing our win total so badly. I Feel like 8 or 8.5 would have been a better number.

We have 3 high probability losses in @AL, @LSU and @UNM. Even if we only lose those and win all of the tossup games we wouldn't beat that number. Its a no brainer under bet if you have the cash to gamble.

but we won 10 regular season games for only the second time ever two years ago. No way we do that again. Not with our QB, DB and OL question marks.

sheer talent standpoint, they are better than us and it's in Oxford.

The road to 10 wins:

1) S. Bama
2) SCar
3) UMass
4) Auburn
5) BYU
6) UK
7) Samford
8) TAMU
9) UPig
10) UNM

Not predicting it is going to happen, but I think every one of those games is more than winnable, and I've got a feeling we're going into VHS on a mission this year. Yes, I understand the odds are tougher when considering we'd have to win them all, but again, I don't think it's that far-fetched that I'd expose myself too much by betting against.

That's definitely best case scenario. I think Bovada includes winning a bowl game too, so that accounts for one of those above being a loss. I agree with you on the Egg Bowl as well.

I think it depends on whether or not they start out 1-3 and how much the NCAA stuff is a distraction for them. That's just an unknown right now. If they win one of FSU, Bama, or Georgia I could see it giving them a lot of confidence. Interestingly enough those are three teams that have been after Ole Miss with the investigation stuff.

I think FSU is going to be a very difficult out for OM...

they (FSU) are gonna be pretty good... could run the table with the way the schedule sets up...

I think FSU is going to beat the shit outta UNM. Then FSU fans will crow about how they beat, "one of the SEC's best", claim our conference is overrated, etc, as will all the SEC-haters. Ultimately, UNM will ride their 8-home-games, 3 road games and 1 neutral site to a 7-5 regular season, with a bottom-two finish in the SEC West.

There are something's agree with here. I will tell you that 2017 we are looking very very good. We have some losses in 17 but will return a LARGE number of people with boatloads talent. Plus the JUCO's OL and DL could set us up for a deep run to atl in 17. 8 to 9 is the ceiling this year with the floor being 7 wins

Jucos are a crap shoot. If they're good, we'll be good and vice versa.

After the past 2 Egg Bowls it would be nice just to play a competitive game with them. Double digit losses to them are starting to piss me off. Sorry, not holding out hope for a game in Oxford unless a lot of things come down from the NCAA prior to that game.

Mistake on Bovada's part. Was supposed to be 7.5

I'm not sure why people keep focusing on 2017. Looking at roster right now, the only OL that have played meaningful snaps that will be here in 2017 are Calhoun and Jenkins. We won't have Ross, Holloway, Richie, our entire two deep DL except for Simmons.

We have no idea what our OL/DL looks like for 2017 except Simmons will play DL, and Calhoun/Rankin will play OL.

Let's see how we do this year before predicting success for next season.

I like the over on 7.5 a little better than the under on 9.5

Games we will most likely win, IMO:
1) S Bama
2) SCar
3) UMass
4) Auburn
5) BYU
6) UK
7) Samford

...then at least one of:
TAMU
UPig
UNM
Bowl opponent

Any single loss in the first 7 could just as easily be made up for by an extra win in the last 4.
