Rumor is that OM is going to greyshirt Justin Conner, a 4 star athlete from North Panola who has been committed to them since 2013. Is he hurt or are they using this as a "scholarship reduction" from their self imposed penalties?

Doubtful, which makes "poor man's Kailo" seriously damning.

It will be waived at the NCAA as one of the "self imposed" scholarship reductions.

I'm sure it will all be made up to him "on the back end".

Probably a lot easier to talk a local kid into this deal. No doubt he will be taken care of on the side. Unless carefully monitored, they will spit in the face of the NCAA and whatever penalties they hand down. If I remember correctly, OM signed around 37 when they were on probation in the 90's. Only had 15 or so available. That's one way to survive probation. Sherrill was in the process of leaving them in the dust.

Everything I've read said they expected him to play at DB and contribute in the future, no mention of playing RB. It's just strange for them to invest so much time recruiting the guy and he's worst than Kailo?

Do you think Kalio would be starting for us this year had he held his commitment and not taken cash to be a Bear?

My guess is he'd be a track star and off the football team by now if he'd come to us.
