Chip Kelly got an 18 month show cause for his troubles in Oregon, which appear to be less significant than what Freeze has been accused of in Oxfords. Discuss amongst yourselves.

If the NCAA were consistent then Freeze should get a 36 month show cause.

He and Pete were good enough for the NFL. Y'all think Freeze is?

Nope, can't win without cheating. Think about how good Mississippi would have been without Tunsil, Kimde, and Paidwell the last 3 years?
Not very good, and they got them by cheating. Freezes system won't work in the NFL, look at Kelley's success!

If I'm Kelly, Pearl, or any other coach that got a show cause, I'm watching this case closely. If Freeze gets by with just a suspension, then I'm getting a lawyer and see if any of the other coaches want to do a class action lawsuit against the NCAA for selective enforcement of their rules.

Depends on whether his balls are properly inflated.

Didn't you hear his speech at media days? NFL coaches call him all the time to pick his brain about his offense! He is God's gift to football - just ask him.

Big secret on how he works, pick plays and quick throws. Pretty easy to coach that.
Same with Lane Kiffen. Very few of their best pass plays work without a rub or straight up pick.

Don't forget releasing offensive linemen downfield early. That's a big reason they hit so many big plays - Kelly throws on the run a lot and his linemen are downfield. One of the LB reads is the offensive line's blocking...if they are blocking down hill, the linebackers attack looking for the run. Ole Miss likes to run Kelly to the edge, get backers to commit, and then throw it behind them. That's the sole reason they beat Alabama last year. Supposedly there is going to be more emphasis on calling ineligible players downfield this year - and it's going to be interesting to see how good Ole Miss will be offensively if that is the case.

If the NCAA does what they need to do to send a message then Freeze will be a TE coach with the Browns or the Bills next season.

I'd love to see him with the Dolphins. He and Tunsil reunited would be a heartwarming tale...

Haven't Dolphin fans suffered enough for the past 20 years? Please don't wish that on us.

I still say Freeze needs to go Oregon State where he can be both head coach and mascot!!!

They talked about it being more emphasis last year also...announcers mentioned this for the first couple weeks of the season.

I hope so. I think most knowledgeable football fans are aware of the rule but don't realize what an insane advantage it gives offenses who intentionally exploit the fact that it goes mostly uncalled. On the flip side it's like if the refs decided they weren't going to call a few players lining up a yard offsides 9/10 times and the defense knew it.

Similar to how a lot of those Arkansas basketball teams won during Nolan's tenure. They were good but they basically beat the crap out of ball-handlers and dared the referees to call a foul every possession.
