He was the closer at Meridian CC last year and put up some good numbers for them. He also pitched for Desoto Central with Keegan James, Austin Riley, and Brant Blaylock and was their closer as well. He claims to sit at 88-90 and top out at 92. He went 8-1 last year 6 saves and he had an ERA of 1.54 and with that many wins I suspect that he was not used traditionally as a closer but more of a multiple innings type guy unless they had a lot of tie games that they happened to win late. His K/BB ratio is pretty good with 52 K's in 41 IP and he also allowed 36 hits and walked 15 in that span as well.

He's going to be a sophomore this year so he has three years of eligibility left.

Obviously, I suspect we will look at him in the bullpen likely as a short relief pitcher. I still look for Jacob Barton, Blake Smith, Ryan Rigby, and Jacob Billingsley to compete for the closers role and now Price is another possible addition to that race in the fall and spring.

Good news after a disappointing week of BB news, thanks.

Did we have to compete with any other programs for his commitment?

Like that ERA. What's his best pitch?
