Good article here (http://www.omaha.com/sports/with-scholarship-limit-college-baseball-careers-come-with-a-cost/article_9c27f775-3564-5051-b7f9-f258c8c37fd1.html?mode=jqm) that explains the challenges faced by both college baseball players (walk-ons and the 25% guys) and coaches trying to get the math right for 11.7 partial scholarships available for 27 players.

It's a more concise than than the infamous Polk letter.

I'm not sure the idea of a only- or mostly-Power 5 baseball division is viable since not all of the P5 schools are willing to invest in baseball. It would up travel costs significantly, especially for the Pac-12 since there aren't that many teams out west as it is. If upping the scholarship limit meant that only 150 or 180 schools fielded D1 baseball teams instead of 295, I could live with that.

Why not add another women's team to balance it out Title 9-wise? It isn't hard to me.

As far as the little schools.....no one seems to care in football. There are a bunch of schools struggling to stay in the black in football, namely USM. I don't see any of them talking about 'parity'. That is just lip service.

It's a damn disgrace. In all honesty, teams like Coastal Carolina and UCSB probably should not be winning national titles.

The issue with Title IX has always been that the 85 scholarships from football shouldn't be part of the equation. It is the lifeblood and money maker for each and every school. So why should male athletes suffer because of the imbalance it creates in total scholarship numbers?

Set the 85 for football aside, then divvy out the rest equally among men's/women's sports.

The feminists (and Greg Sankey) would crucify you.
