cleveland pulls off an incredible come back from down 3 games to one to capture the NBA title. Let's not kid ourselves though, the East is horrible and has been for the better part of the past decade. In the West there are atleast 3 teams every year that you think have a legitiment shot at title. The thunder, Spurs, and warriors have been the recent ones. You also have a few sleepers with an outside shot some years like the Blazers, Rockets (if they knew what defense was), Clippers and the Grizzlies. In the East it's basically settled in early November who will be representing the East in the finals every year. And that would be whatever team LBJ suits up for. Ever since Boston's big three have moved on there has been no real competition in the east. The Pacers put up a decent effort a couple of times, but they were merely speed bumps for the fightin 'brons. How does the East get better? Why has it been so bad for so long?

The Hawks have been pretty good but they lack star power. Teague, Holford, and Millsap are good but none are on Lebron or Kyrie level good. Holford and Millsap aree barely on Love level good.

I really think the Hawks can develop into a power. Budenholzer is a very good coach. He's from the Pop coaching tree. I think they'll have to upgrade at point guard though. Teague is ok but you've got to have a great point guard in this type of offense.

The East will be good once the Bulls, Knicks and Pistons stop giving monster contracts to underperforming players.

It's not for lack of resources. The Knicks, Nets and others make bad deal after bad deal. The West has the Spurs who've been good forever and then a number of superstars like Kobe, Steve Nash, Steph Curry, Kevin Durant and others who keep the conference elevated well above the East.
