I wouldn't consider myself one of the most knowledgeable, but I'm pretty sure the Cape selects their own players, which says a ton about us having 10 this year. Outside of the Cape, I'm pretty sure our coaches use their connections to different leagues and coaches based on the individual development needs of each player. If a certain club faces a little lesser competition, but their coach is a big pitching developer, we might send a guy that is young and needs to develop on the mound and gain some confidence while logging lots of innings, for example.

I may be wrong though.

Harrison Bragg not doing much. Still think our infield will consist of Gridley, Alexander, Stovall and Gordon next year though I am not sure who will be at 2b, SS and 3b.

It's the Cape...I doubt the catchers are not very good. He runs a 60 in the 6.6 range, hardly slow especially for a kid his size.

Rooker's not slow at all. He's not a burner but he runs well.

While we don't have anyone going off a la Renfroe at this point, it's encouraging to see so many guys playing well.

A few of The "experts" have been talking good about Keegan James on Twitter. I saw one guy said he thinks James has weekend rotation stuff, and is one of the most impressive guys in that league

Stats for this week - posted from hailstate.com site for those interested. Tanner Poole is continuing to dominate.

STARKVILLE, Miss. - The 2016 SEC Champion Diamond Dawgs have dispersed across the country to their respective summer leagues looking to perfect their craft. In total, the Bulldogs have sent 13 hurlers and 11 sluggers to summer leagues. As of July 25th, eight of the 13 pitchers had summer ERA's below 2.52. 6 Diamond Dawgs have also recorded batting averages above the .300 mark. Below are their updated stats as of July 25, 2016. Last week's highlights
Jacob Billingsley took a no-hitter into the sixth inning before it was interrupted by a lightning delay
Ryan Cyr picked up his fourth win in five appearances this summer, lowering his ERA to a blistering 1.33
Cole Gordon tossed a scoreless inning with one strikeout
Keegan James struck out six in six innings of work.
Konnor Pilkington lowered his summer ERA to 1.06 after striking out five in six shutout innings.
Ryan Rigby struck out two in two appearances, not allowing any earned runs over 1 1/3 innings of work.
Ethan Small tossed two shutout innings to lower his ERA to 1.80.
Blake Smith fanned one in two innings of work to dip his ERA to 2.31
Brant Blaylock went 4-for-11 with three runs scored and two doubles.
Cody Brown went 4-for-13 and blasted his second dinger of the summer
Cole Gordon knocked his fifth and sixth home runs of the summer.
Jake Mangum is currently riding a four-game hitting streak, and has at least one hit in eight-of-his-last-nine games.
Tanner Poole continues to dominate in the Valley League, picking up 11 hits in 30 plate appearances.
Hunter Stovall is on a tear, going 6-for-11 with a double and a home run. He also has five RBIs in that stretch.

Home to 1st he isn't very fast. Maybe he's better on the bases; but I rememver several times I thought he would beat out a ball to 1b and he couldn't do it
